I was just curious how many lock on pilots are flying or running around in Armed Assault.

:pilotfly:

Edit:

Here is the latest trailer, using the USA version of the game which includes A10.

Did i mention you can use photoshop to use your real picture in game for everyone to see. lol

I treid ArmA and returned it within a week. The game was quite good but that Lighting effects are way overdone...

x2 nope.

ArmA is another overhyped title. This game is really bad and I won't go into detals again why. Like I said on our squad forums: "Bohemia, Tetris is more fun and playable then your combat sim!"

I play it now and then. As far as lighting effects, I believe turning off HDR helps.

The AI is bloody smart. Still trying to get the convoy mission done.

1 guy againt a convoy.... pfff.

I tried the demo but the framerate was so bad i couldnt get a feel of how the game was. I have a quite good computer that should handle all games with good fps even if i need to lower the settings but with Arma, no chance... To bad because i like the genre.

that's right .. tha game is amanzingly resources demanding. My computer can handle most of games at good frame rate but when I tried the demo, it ran so sturdy, choppy and slow that I couldn't even get an idea of the gameplay. Too bad, I like the genre too

I'm waiting until the US release. I downloaded the UK version, but the graphical requirements are just too huge (OFP even has greater framerates! and nearly looks as good now...) As mentioned, the graphics are great after 1800 (when I get decent framerates) but when you've played OFP/VBS1 for so long, it's like "what's new?" About the only thing cool was the animations for scopes, and the Stryker was cool to drive, but that's about it.

On that thought, maybe the topic should be "Who bought ArmA and turned their attention away, but realized it's crap, so they returned." That's what I did, returned back to LOMAC and WOE. Hell I reinstalled GRAW just so I can have a "decent" shooter.

DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

Have it. Love it! Demo doesn't do the full version any justice as the playability and weapons are no where near as good as the current patch. With several mods out on a weekly basis, large community and simulated battle environment, it's just what I've been waiting for since OFP came out. Don't get me wrong, it's not for everyone, but after reading the glowing reviews about S.T.A.L.K.E.R by BGP, this game offers years of playability compared to 40-100 hours. Realistically, it's just as taxing on a system as Lock On is (tweaking required to get above 25 frames). Once that's achieved you're on your way. Oh, unlike OFP, you can dumb down the AI abit with the custom settings so that survival using good tactics is actually possible. Offline missions are just to get you up to speed. Online is where the fun is!

Took a break from Lock On a couple of months back and got right into Arma. Completed the campaign and got into editing. Made a very cool MP Mission designed for pilots. We still have a dedicated server running too.

Download it here. Good for 1 to 32 players

I don't have it yet but am going to take the plunge with the U.S. release and try some infantry fun. Currently, and (what I think will be for a long time) my first choice of sim is Steel Beasts Personal Edition. I'm just having a blast with this one online and offline.

Wait, is armed assault a Flight sim or a FPS?

Don't get overly excited with the stock Su-34..
