i always do,. because you dont know if the update will over write files in the mods you use, i did delete fxo and metashaders but it was by pure habit.. try not doing it and see...

Hi, had this happen a couple of times in the last few days. I can only assume it's this mod as I believe it's the only shaders edits I have in the game right now.

 

 

Any ideas what I can do to fix it?

run a repair, download another shader mod and reinstall it. see if the problem persists.

Does anyone else notice anything funky with the clouds in VR after installing the mod? It’s like an invisible canopy reflection is making a few of the clouds in my Field of view look weird, fade in and out with my head movement, almost like they aren’t being rendered correctly. Cheers!

It's persisted through a repair and reinstall of the shader mod.

 

What version of the shader are you using ? What version of dcs are you using.

Clouds has always been funky.

 

 

They just became even worse in VR. I noticed the other day that while looking around that some clouds rotate around their center axis when you rotate your view, like 2d sprites of the old.

My clouds have always spinned with my head. I've never seen static ones before.

 

I don't think they will bother fixing this as clouds should be replaced soon™.

I do agree that the rotating clouds are annoying but not new at least not in the last couple builds. Falcon BMS had the same issue with trackir. Wish I could describe what I’m seeing a little better. I can see some clouds (not all) are

Fuzzy and hard to see, like they aren’t being rendered correctly between each eye. Again I think it might be a canopy reflections thing but why it only effects some of the clouds I don’t know

 

Edit: I also notice my metashaders folder in Bazar are not repopulating for any theater. This is weird bc I’ve flown in all 3 since updating.

Why were you deleting those folder contents anyway?

The VR optimization guide instructs you need to delete those folder contents as well as your FXO and metashaders2 folder in saved games after installing the mod.

No, that guide tells you delete the files from C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\terrains\Caucasus\misc\metacache\dcs as an example. Nothing to do with the Bazar folder.

Anyway, as we discussed further up, that is one of the things not quite right about that video. You don't need to do that any more as per Kegetys.

which version of Clear water and iC pass , it needs to be the latest version (50321) of the Mod to work with the latest open beta (50979)

Yes I misspoke but those are the ones I deleted and haven’t repopulated. I guess my question is how do I get the files back and why hasn’t affected the game so far? I’ve managed to load I to caucus, Nevada, and Persian gulf with no issues

They don't repopulate.

 

The new shaders are put in Saved Games fxo and metashaders2 folders. Anyway, as I said, that video is wrong, you don't need to delete the terrain files any more. Just follow the readme and you are good to go.
