It's working on Steam, though the procedure isn't exactly intuitive.

Go to the DLC page of the module you want to try i.e. F/A-18C

Apparently it works only for users who already have purchased in the past modules/maps on DCS.

New users doesn't get the Install window for the FREE addons...

I don't own any modules yet, and it doesn't appear to be available... However, based on the statement below, I would think it should be:

"

Starting today and lasting until 1 October 2018, play DCS: F/A-18C Hornet, DCS: Persian Gulf Map, and the Su-33 for DCS World for free! The Hornet and Su-33 include all the missions and campaigns as the purchased versions, and they can be played in both single player and multiplayer modes. Enjoy!

If you do not already own one of these modules, we hope you will take advantage of this great opportunity and try out a new DCS World module and consider a purchase.

For install any of those modules please see into Module Manager in the game."

When you log into the game with your DCS Account and go to the Module Manager, you don't see any of these modules available for install?

I see them there, but the only option is to "Buy" it. If I click through that, it eventually takes me to a payment screen asking for a credit card...

I just started the download. I wanted to install into my existing DCS folder, but a message indicated that it may overwrite existing content. I did not want to jack-up my existing modules. So, I started the install of the free weekend content into a separate folder. I am assuming the free weekend content is a stand alone version of the material that does not depend on an existing installation of DCS World; Yes/No?

I am excited about getting the change to try out the F18. This free weekend idea may be the spark that gets me to buy this rather expensive module. DCS, the price may be preventing many of us from buying this module. Just saying. Maybe a holiday sale price reduction?

You should be installing through module manager on the standalone version.

In the beginning of the installation process I pointed to my default DCS World folder. In response, there was a message indicating that installing to the default folder may overwrite some content in that folder structure.

I was concerned about overwriting existing content with these free weekend module items. I should halt the installation and instead point to my default DCS World folder for the installation of the free weekend content? Bty, I already have the SU-33 and Persian Gulf maps. What happens when I install the free weekend version of these modules into my existing folder, will I not overwrite them with the free weekend files?

For those that have never owned a module before and are having an issue, we have asked the team to look at this. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Do we have any updates for those accounts that don’t have purchases modules? I have 4 friends in this situation and can’t start the trial.

Thank you.

How should I install the free weekend content if I already have DCS World with an existing SU-33 and Persian Gulf maps modules?

Select the F/A-18C Hornet in module manager and download/install it.

Not sure why you'd want to install Su-33 and Persian Gulf map if they are already installed ?
