How do you get IR Mav`s? I cant even load them...

 

You have to modify your FA-18C.lua file to enable them. They're buggy, but they work! I managed to destroy a couple of IR SAM sites with them.

Im not too good with modification, so I will not use them ... for now :lol: I prefer to wait for original IR Mav`s.

I'm pretty sure the LMav bug is a rearm/reload bug.

 

Air start works fine as does ramp start if you change the loadout in the ME. The only times I've seen them refuse to uncage is when I've asked the ground crew to load them.

 

I only tried once where I loaded them, but it appears to me that it didn't quite catch that I loaded a lmav rather than an imav. In particular, in the tac page, the imav display is an option on the upper right, and it shows a camera from the ocean surface somewhere.

confirmed - Cage doesnt work if from cold start with no weapons

 

No biggie, just have to hot start until they are fixed :)

Recommend you D/L that mission and install it in the ED>DCS World OB>Mods>aircraft>FA18C>Missions>Single

 

This will give you a quick and easy way to fly and practice.

 

My Current Flow:

 

FENCE:

1) Select A/G Mode

2) Ensure Master Arm - On

3) Set Stores on Left DDI & Select MAV

4) Set LMAV on Right DDI

5) Set 1688 laser code by utilizing UFC button on either DDI, then input via UFC

6) Set WPT on HSI to WP 2

 

STRIKE:

1) Set 133.00 in radios

2) Contact JTAC and run through the check-in radio comms up to "Laser On"

*Once set and ready for run in*

3) Call laser on NLT 10 NM out to WP 2

4) Uncage LMAV once turned in the general direction

5) Run Through Rest of required JTAC Comm up to "IN"

6) NLT 8 NM, Call "IN" with JTAC

7) Weapons Release NET 7NM (Per Wags' vid on general release ranges for AGM-65Es)

 

 

Sorry for the rudimentary way of describing this. I'm no Chuck. :lol:

The creator of this video fails to mention that you can move the IMAV seeker.

 

Be sure to designate your Maverick as SOI, otherwise you can't slew it around. :)

 

 

Obviously the AGM-65G is WIP, but it's already incredibly fun to use. Hornet becomes an A2G monster with it.

Should be listed under "Missiles" when loading from Ground Crew or in the ME

I think what he means is that the mission you attached does not have a Reaper drone...or anything other than the F-18 sitting on the runway with the Mavericks loaded. I opened the mission in the mission editor and confirmed that the mission is basically empty. There are not even any waypoints for the F-18

May have missed this earlier in the thread but I just loaded up 3 Mavs, and after firing the last one Mav Lkd was stuck on the hud. I switched to A/G guns and the symbology still didn’t go away, so GUN CCIP was overlying the MAV LKD

LMAV cage/uncage is bugged at the moment unless the loadout was configured in the Mission Editor i.e. it works for a airspawn or a cold start that doesn't require calling the ground crew for rearm/refuel.

 

Tested DCS Open Beta 2.5.3.23788

 

 

I have a mission with 2 cold start Hornets, one with Mk-83's, one with AGM-65E's. If I use the AGM-65E Hornet, Cage/uncage works, if I take the Mk-83 Hornet and change it's loadout to AGM-65E's, everything works until it's time to uncage the laser seeker.

I ran into a problem when my JTAC would declare LASER ON but then would not declare LASING. But it worked for the first three Mavericks
