pimp Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 So I talked to HP Support yesterday for my static and flashing issues, and they are going to send me a new cable. The cable they are sending is the USB one connected to the PC. However, I think the cable connected to the headset is the issue. I noticed these issues happen when I move my head or the cable. I told him I think it's the other cable, but he said if the one they send does not fix the issue, then they would have to send me a replacement. sirrah Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 I'm pretty much all setup with my new Reverb, but.. Not sure why, but 9 out of 10 times, when I'm in DCS in VR, my mouse cursor won't move. Sounds like you have the WMR setting "Input Switching" on automatic. It tries to automatically switch between HMD and desktop, but does not work most of the time. That's why you should change "Input Switching" setting to manual. Then you can control the input selection by pressing Win+Y.
hansangb Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 (edited) Thanks for that. Pagefile has always been system managed, and, yes, CPU-Z confirms the 5GHz. I'm getting 59-64 FPS when looking forward, left and right on the FA18 Instant Action, Ready on the Ramp in Persian map. Which is different than before because I only showed 45 or 90. So I guess at some point, ASW like function was turned off. EDIT: I forgot to add that I installed ProcessLasso (set it to GAME mode). I didn't do extensive testing with it on or off, but I'm not have any issues with smoothness so I just left it on. Panthera_Tigris Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Just updated my ~4 year old Vive to a Reverb. The clarity boost is amazing with gauges as readable as on a monitor. I got the 947 serial number so its the late November model. Have not done any tweaking so far except for lowering SS to 100% and enabling motionvector or whatever in that WMR config file. Played a bunch of DCS, IL2 and a few racing sims. All were great except Dirt Rally which made me nauseous very quickly which is rare. Definitely an issue with the game or its various VR hacks like Revive or the those Oculus files we are forced to use. See this is why I HATE Oculus - they bribed games like Dirt Rally to be Oculus exclusive and now we have to use hacks to play them. Anyway, back on topic. The Reverb is def lighter than the Vive, build quality is not as good but who cares about that as long as the insides are good. Speakers are really poor but more convenient. My biggest issue was that it is really making my glasses press on my nose to the point of being intolerable. I have been using the vroptician lenses for my Vive and just ordered the same for the Reverb but might take a while to get here form Germany. In the meantime, just going to go out and buy some contacts for a week or two (yup, it hurts that bad). My glasses are not big by the way, it's a pretty slender frame. There also seems to be some IPD realted issue. My IPD is 67 so not that off but I get double vision when looking at fpsVR or the gunsights in IL2. Does the IPD setting in Windows settings do anything? Any other hacks or tips I should be aware of? I did notice quite a bit of chromatic aberration. Any fixes for that? As suspected, the new cable did not work. The displays still get static and flashes on & off when I move my head at certain angles. Surprisingly, HP called me yesterday to follow up to see if the cable fixed my issue, but it was too early. I hadn't gotten home to try it out yet. Rogue Trooper Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 (edited) I find this also. with mouse control dropping out. Mann handling the right virtual controller (default controller for me), pressing the windows button for 4 or 5 seconds and then pressing the trigger enables the mouse permanently during your DCS visit. The right VR controller sits permanently under my flight chair.... whithin blind grips distance. Dream Commodore 64C, 1530 datasette, 1541 floppy disk drive, DCS cartridge, competition pro joystick, 14” Tv with VCR. You can remove the factory facial interface and replace it with the VR cover for Oculus Quest (it will stick to the factory velcro lining) Alternatively you could remove the factory facial interface and replace with your own piece of foam. I removed the foam from an old Oculus Rift S facial interface with a sharp knife and have that attached to the factory velcro on the Reverb. This if not quite as comfortable, but brings the lenses closer to my eyes both improving the perceived FOV and making the sweetspot larger.

imacken Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 I seem to be losing 6 DOF a lot these days. Usually, it starts off OK, then some time into a DCS session, I lose it. Only really started happening fairly recently. Does anyone know what causes this? I thought it might be lack of light, but I don't think that is the case? PSU being overloaded?
