We'll have to wait and see but I doubt it will be very good for anything but hit and run considering how the Dora fares currently.

So according to you that's kind of bad? #LUFTYWHINERS

Well, it's the variant that should be in DCS in the first place, considering the '44 setting.

Wonder if the Radial is heavier... that might help with boom and zoom tactics.

Apparently the short coupled nature of the prop-cog on the Anton is what gave it such a sparkling rate of roll, something that was lost to some degree on the Dora and apparently lamented by pilots obliged to upgrade.

By most accounts it should be a very close match numbers wise to the Spitfire LF.IX with an edge in top speed but otherwise pretty close in speed, climb and acceleration - dive notwithstanding, points to the Anton here - with variances at certain altitude bands. Spit should have the advantage in a sustained turn fight but the Anton can change direction much quicker.

All in all a pretty sound match!

Against the Pony, the Antony's gonna have a climb rate advantage and the roll rate is still better but you won't be out running or out-diving the pony. Turn rates by most accounts should be very similar until the P-51 drops some flaps.

What about MW-50 and Notleistung (1,42 ata > 1,56/1,65 ata)?

Well even if it doesn’t perform that well it looks so bloody awesome, so I will learn to fight with it in some capacity.

In lower altitudes should be a hand full for the Pony and Spit... now at high altitudes you radder have a Dora...

Antons never had MW50, either C3 injection (Jabos) or Ladedruckerhöhung (Jäger).

True but in all the air quake servers who actually flys high enough to take that advantage?:pilotfly:

Boo-hoo

it will not fare well against ufos^^ :D

its gonna be interesting none the less and it seems a well made model, looking forward to it.

It will have the C3 injection system according to the text in the ED-shop.

As most fights in DCS happen at a quite low altitude, the Anton should be somewhat competitiv. I guess staying below 6000m will be mandatory.

:pilotfly:I´m glad to see that the cockpit instruments are much better build than at d9 version. No need for a instrument modification. cool :D

At last, this is the proper FW match-up for the the Spit on Normandy map. I think that the P51D will have advantages over it, although it is a very tough plane with good armour. This will not be a turn fighter, as most know, but in the hands of a specialist it will be a frightening energy fighter. So much fire-power that head-on attacks with the Anton should be avoided at all cost by adversaries. Hammer-heads for quickest reverses. We will see some fine aces arise flying this module.

This, along with the terrific little I-16, will ignite the WWII online servers at last. And imagine a mix of Antons down low, with Doras, and/or 109s giving high cover. Now there's a scary thought!

Was perhaps a bit salty up there, but it's funny nonetheless how all WW2 simmers always complain about their crates being nerfed and the enemy's craft being overmodelled, regardless of what the devs do or don't do. So the best policy is of course to ignore the lot, isn't it?

Same goes for any other module BTW…
