Eagle7907 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 In fact, Wags stated in the last communication that they were now dealing with aspects of the Hornet that would take a lot of work to complete. We will get an update next when there is stuff to release. Are you schoolkids here or adults? I agree. What bothers me about the recent delay is now we have 3rd party developers delaying other 3rd party developers patches. Therefore, those who own those products are now being affected. It’s a slippery slope for ED. I sympathize, it’s certainly not an easy business. I don’t know, come to think of it, this probably isn’t the first time this has happened. Anyways, that’s my 2 cents. dawgie79 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 I've said it before and i'll repeat it. Some members shouldn't buy EA. They don't have the patience for it. Agreed times 2. :) "We" don't need anything. Some want something. People should stop talking as if the whole community agrees with them.
Eagle7907 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 I wonder how the ATFLIR is progressing, voted the most wanted feature. Seems like they've shifted focus to other things :( I don’t think so. I remember Wags saying that once the HARM modes were complete it would be full steam ahead with ATFLIR. I believe the only modes left are prebriefed and just bug fixing. But this has been discussed before, plans change. Always subject to change, and who knows it may be better for everyone’s benefit. They may have hit a snag, so instead the strategy had to change to continue the momentum of releasing features. I’m, so far, happy with their work and the progress they have made. I don’t completely agree with the EA purchasing, but I don’t run the business, someone else does and I leave it at that. Keep going ED! We will get an update next when there is stuff to release. Are you schoolkids here or adults? There is stuff to release, but they can't release it, because of some problems, which they have to fix first, which is fine. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Guppy Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 From the day the Hornet went to EA, ED was very open an clear that exactly the things you want to have would be added during development and would not come very soon. Sure, they did not specify what and when exactly. But any such statement would habe been anyway nothing but guesstimates. You sound like you would be a great supporter and advocate for a certain space-sim that appears will never be completed. Joking aside, development is getting a bit lengthy. Is it 1 more year? 2 more? 3 more? I do love the plane, but come on! My Simpit Progress and Update Learn how to build a SimPit like mine: Follow my Blog here!

Hog_No32 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 You sound like you would be a great supporter and advocate for a certain space-sim that appears will never be completed. Joking aside, development is getting a bit lengthy. Is it 1 more year? 2 more? 3 more? I do love the plane, but come on! What I said was derived from my professional background as a Product Owner for a bunch of software (very complex ones as well). And as a Product Owner I am talking to „both sides“, my customers and my developers. So I perfectly know the struggle, you want to get as many features and fixes to the customers as possible and at the same time I know the realities of actual development. But even if you leave the domain of software development and just look at your life: Does everything and always work out as planned? Hell, no. But you simply adjust and try to find the best possible solution for the problem that just popped up. And then move on. And - and that is true for most of my customers as well as probably for most people over here - they understand this and just carry on. Again, that applies to most people, not to everyone :smilewink:
Harlikwin Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 I wonder how the ATFLIR is progressing, voted the most wanted feature. Seems like they've shifted focus to other things :( My understanding is that there will be a whole new FLIR render system that will be built to accommodate ATFLIR and generally improve FLIR performance in general which is currently badly modeled to put it very nicely. Nagilem Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Personally, I would at least like to see RWS implemented soon. I can wait a bit for the ground stuff knowing that is *very* complex and requires major updates. This and $5 just might buy you a caffeinated beverage... We'll definitely see what we see when we see it... hahaha :pilotfly: Specs: I9-9900k; ROG Strix RTX 2080ti; Valve Index HMD; 32GB DDR4 3200 Ram; Samsung 970 EVO 1TB SSD; TM Warthog with pedals, 3 TM MFDs

evilnate Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 My guess is that ED wants F-18C features completed more than anyone else. Each day of development costs them money (engineering, rent, power, data, etc.).
nicka117 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 No one has showed up to dash our hopes yet so maybe there is still a chance for the update tomorrow.
Harlikwin Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Honestly moving up a version number usually means some decent improvements all around. So its worth the wait. Eagle7907 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 I hope it’s not the 3rd party I think it is. Raven68 Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 The 3rd party teams seem to be pretty responsive based on past releases and turnaround times between each update. I have confidence in them.
