Farlander
Open to everyone. Just note that it's certainly not "release" ready just yet. While we think it is far more enjoyable to fly than the SFM at it's current state you will probably find bugs. Still working on FFB issues related to AFCS for example. Mud
When you install the 2.0 beta you have to indeed delete your previous A-4 key binds. So you lose those, but not for any other DCS aircraft. MAXsenna
Thanks guys! Just DL'd and installed. It's very different, and very fun! A quick question though. Turning on the autopilot it immediately does a 737 MAX dive. Could this be that I'm using FFB?Again, thanks! Farlander
Yes. That is something i fixed in the latest code you'll find on "develop" branch, but it is not in the 2.0 beta release. FFB trim should now be better and the AFCS threshold is adjustable so you can tune it to your particular FFB setup. Reverend Kyle
I can't get the new beta to work. I deleted the old A-4 folder as well as the control settings in config/input. After installing the beta and launching DCS, I can see the A-4 icon at the bottom with the proper v2.0.0 beta-1. The problem is that I can't get into the cockpit. Loading a test mission in the mission editor allows me to F2 the outside of the Skyhawk, but I can't F1 into the cockpit. RAlt+J gives the "aircraft not available for control" message. I uninstalled the beta and reinstalled v1.4.2 and it works fine. I uninstalled every mod for DCS, thinking that it might be a conflict of some sort, but no luck getting the A-4 beta to work. I've been messing with it for two hours now and I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions?

Reverend Kyle
One of the guys on the A-4 Discord channel figured it out. I re-installed Windows a few weeks ago and I was missing the Microsoft Visual Studio C++ libraries, which are a dependency of the A-4 DLL. It's probably a rare issue since most people will already have it installed. Thanks for offering to help, Rudel_chw.

MAXsenna
Just an educated guess from my side, so could be wrong. The C++ dll looks to me like it's compiled for runtime version VC10. You can download the runtime redistributable from Microsoft: x64 https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/download/details.aspx?id=14632 Win32 https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/download/details.aspx?id=5555 Not sure if you only need x64 or also Win32, but doesn't hurt to have both installed. You'd need x86 for 32bit apps of course, while for DCS x64 should be adequate. But as you say, it can't hurt to have both. Also, there are several versions depending on which the "app" was made for... I tend to install all of them, both x86/x64.
