Thank you very much for this little bird. I just did my first takeoff and spin around Batumi

The cockpit feels very tight in VR but the sight is marvelous

Yes indeed. I haven't gotten home from work to get in and take her for a spin yet, but thank you ED for actually giving me an early Christmas present - a Viper in DCS.

Yeah, the cockpit looks and feels great in VR, and much clearer and more readable than the hornet (which I still love).

Well done ED!

Thats something i noticed too, visibility and readability of the HUD/MFD and Cockpit is really good on my Rift S. After the first takeoff/spin/landing at Batumi it's now back to work...setting up the HOTAS :book:

Yes, thank you ED! This is literally my dream aircraft since I was a kid (now mid 30s...). Flying this in DCS in VR is a dream come true!

First flight was amazing. I felt right at home in that cockpit. I really love the way she flies. Well done ED ! Thank you for an amazing bird.

So far only tried the startup tutorial and loving the look of the pit. Just had to change my pants though when the radio went full blast on engine start drowning out poor Wags. Have to remember to turn down the knobs before atempting that on the second try ;)

Its strange, Im having a hard time reading the MFDs in my Rift S.

Agreed. With my Index the F18 displays are very readable but not so in the F16... Gotta see if something has changed.

But other than that the F16 is super awesome. Have been doing some MK82 CCIP bombing runs and it's almost too easy to hit the targets!

Thanks for keeping the positivity up in this thread, guys. Keep it coming. A lot of debbie downers out there only playing up the stuff that doesn't work.

Took my first blast around nevada, so fast and smooth, pulling 9g turns with ease. Now to settle in for EA, at the end (including the hornet) We’ll have something very special. Thank you ED team.

It’s only on open beta branch. If your on open beta and it won’t update, either wait, or download skatezillas dcs updater utility, you can force an update from there. The other method is via a command line on windows.

Great!! I'm glad the Viper is finally back!! Now I have a feast of flights and I discover again this wonderful machine that I had forgotten since the days of Falcon 4.0! Thanks again to the team of developers and to all those who will make this simulation perfect (including all of us who are testing it).

Ohh - I have pushed it more, and I REALLY LOVE the flight model. In the F18 you can do those silly standing almost still in the air at 70 degrees alpha chucking around like a model aircraft.

In the F16 it behaves much more credibly in low speed / high alpha. Sure - the F18 is supposed to have better nose authority in low speed, but you can do things today that not even the Finnish F18 demo pilots would dream of ;)

Not that I have flown any fly by wire fighters IRL - closest is a Swedish SK-60 :)

Great job ED, flies really well! Those radios also blasted me too - any idea which knob turns down the static? I turned down the intercom but then the warnings were muted during the tests.
