mattag08 Posted February 15, 2020 Share Posted February 15, 2020 (edited) When hot or cold starting in SP or MP I have issues with either: 1) Hooking up to the catapult at all. 2) Getting the catapult to launch once I am connected. #1 seems to be random depending on the exact starting conditions of the mission. #2 is reproducible 90% of the time, though I found one instance where if you air start it will allow you one catapult shot, but the second time you trap and attempt at cat shot, you cannot. Before I get the slew of "you just don't know how to do it right." I've done hundreds if not thousands of catapult launches in the F-14 since launch. Myself as well as all of my F-14 squadron mates are having this same issue. I'm also aware of similar catapult problems for the F-18, so I assume this is a DCS level bug, but I wanted to make sure HB was aware in case there were fixes needed on their end. During the preparation for 2.5.6 cat launches did not work, however ED fixed it and they worked again. Now as it got released it seems broken again, also for the AI. Thanks for the report. fat creason Posted February 15, 2020 Share Posted February 15, 2020 This was an issue on an earlier testing version of 2.5.6 that was resolved by ED, I cannot speak to the version that was just released on OB. Just yesterday, I latched, unlatched and relatched again with all 4 Catapults on the Stennis with no ability to launch. I saluted until my arm fell off and ran down the tanks of fuel. But hey, I had the starter cart in tow since the ground crew refused to disconnect it. Guess it's a "No Fly Day" on the Stennis. I am able to hook up to the catapult, but when my pilot salutes, nothing happens. Tested in training mission and Mig28 mission. I was able to launch by spamming the kneel button when hooked up to the catapult. My wingman never figured out how to launch, though. He stayed on the catapult for the entire mission. You got the point. I tested it just now - it can be launched by holding the Nose Strut Compression Switch down, but AI F-14B still won't work. Catapult launched the first time(from Catapult 3), and then returned to the ship, more bugs triggered as below. 1. Nose wheel unable to hook Catapult 1 and 2. 2.
