Towel Rack for Salute! Command

Please allow us to click the canopy rail “towel rack” to give the Salute! command to the deck crew to signal launch.

What means that? For me it's not so important. More important is, that is implemented. And im very grateful to ED for doing this.

BTW i was wondering is that animation implemented outside of the pit? To see how pilot salute?

It available as a keyboard and/or button command also just needs to be mapped. :thumbup:

In the FAQ Wags did say that there is a "Salute" key bind of LShft+LCtrl+S. Wouldn't it be also great to have a "ball" call key bind as well

I am hoping that external views will show the pilot saluting.

 

If so, a Voice attack command would work well.

Something like this

 

When I say "Salute" (or click on towel rail hotspot)

 

• Go to pre-set external view of the cockpit (Press Left Ctrl+F4 keys)
  

 

• Press Supercarrier keybind for 'Salute' (Press Left Ctrl +Left Shift+S keys)
  

 

• Watch the pilot salute (Pause 2 seconds)
  

 

• Returns to cockpit view in time for the launch (Press Fl key)

With Voice Attack, I'm gonna map it to something like "Later B***es", or "Peace Out", and salute as I say it, lol. Maybe have like 4 or 5 phrases I can say, for whatever mood I'm in. "Great balls of Fire" maybe, or "I feel the need... the need for speed". Or, if I'm just in a boring mood, something like "Launch" would work I guess.Point is, VA is definitely nice to have sometimes.

 

I also do think having the ability to click something in the cockpit would be beneficial though. It would have to only be an available activation once you are on the cat and ready to go though. Or not I guess. You'll have so many people doing videos of them saluting other players mid air though.

An external Pilot Salute view is an excellent idea. And with Vaicom and Voice Attack you can map the salute command to whatever floats your boat or, in this case, whatever gets you off the boat. For me: "I'm Going Downtown".
