Frogfoot1606687865 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I know that Beta isn't the time to be requesting new features, but it would be great if the yellow cursor timed out after a short period of inactivity. I keep using it to click buttons or flip switches then forget to move it to the corner of the screen. I think find myself looking around the cockpit and getting distracted by the non-moving cursor in the middle of the screen at which point I have to quickly let go of the stick, grab the mouse and slide it back to its home in the bottom right corner of the screen. If you could find time to quietly slide this change into the schedule, this old simmer would be hugely appreciative... :music_whistling: Me Too!. power5 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Nice one for sure. Hate when it ends up over a switch when viewing around and tool tip pops up. Could turn off tips but not yet for sure. polygonpusher Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 VCR style replay controls, replay markers? Something else I wanted to fire off on my lunch break... Would it be possible, in this build or in future DCS products to include replay sliders for navigating to specific points in the replay? Along those same lines, it would be cool to have a replay marker button that you could press in game when something neat happened - so that you could then later navigate to the mark point(s) in the replay... I'm guessing there is some technical reason why a replay must be watched or fast forwarded from end to end - something about it being generated on the fly... In any case, your thoughts? I'd love to have some standard replay controls... Thanks, D

rexehuk Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Litening II... Will we see an upgrade? The litening two has been on our aircraft since 1999, as some will know the litening G4 has been phasing in and provides higher image quality and target ID. Will we be seeing an updated litening pod for the A10 in the future? http://www.es.northropgrumman.com/solutions/litening/ http://www.deagel.com/news/Northrop-Grumman-Completes-Successful-Flight-Testing-of-LITENING-G4_n000003685.aspx :megalol:

triple111 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 I would LOVE to see sound travel delay modelled. As crazy as it sounds, I would like to switch to the view of the tank i'm about to destroy, then watch the bullets hit, followed by the "BZZZZZZZZZZZZ" a second or two later.

Dimebag1 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Is jetwash and aerodynamic interference modelled? Realistic canopy reflections? During blackouts it would be cool if the sound faded as well (not sure if this happends but it makes sense). [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
rexehuk Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 DCS: Eurofighter would make my eyes light up... Or DCS: AH64 Longbow.

Lixma 06 Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Easy way to change cockpit FOV in DCS: A-10 ? In the original LOMAC there was an in-game 'slider' that let the user set the cockpit FOV. For some reason this was removed as the series progressed. Any chance it could make a return for the DCS series? In addition i'd really like a slider for 'vAngle' as these two are invariably the first things I look to customise in the view.lua. I realise a lot of people know how to safely mess around with the config files but it would be a lot less hassle if these tweaks were available in-game.
kylania Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 There's the Absolute Longitude Shift Camera View Axis. That controls the view like this: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Christmas Cheer - A Landing Practice Mission : Beta Paint Schemes : HOTAS Keyboard Map : Bingo Fuel - A DCS A-10C Movie
arality Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I believe Lixma is referring to adding a slider in the menu options to control this, versus editing a lua file. I second with the suggestion, when I first got blackshark, it took me forever to figure out what to do to get the view correct. A nice slider in the options would have been awesome.
slug88 Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 What would this give you that you can't already do with the in game Zoom In and Zoom Out keys/slider? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
arality Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Well zoom, moves in and out from an object. Example: Looking through binoculars you can zoom in our out FOV is like widening how much you see. Example:If you take the binoculars off you can now see much more of your world. Widening your FOV

Not just the FOV but things like head angle, position in cockpit etc, too.
evilnate Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 I think explosions need to be re-worked. The smoke improvements are awesome, but the explosion particle effects are piss poor. I know this is not HAWX or whatever, but come on.. Most of us virtual hog drivers are men and want our fireworks :D

Dusty [CPC] Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 DTC Setup Is there, or will there we a way to prepare our DTC outside of the game? I'm thinking about MFCD arrangements, weapon profiles, frequencies presets etc. Things that could be prepared beforehand and not once we're in the cockpit. I've tried to look thru the lua files, but no luck so far... I think this is quite important (and one of the benefits of a DTC), as every pilot has its preferences and it would be annoying having to repeat the whole set-up process every time we enter the cockpit. 104th_Crunch Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 It's been mentioned in another thread and is a good idea.
Steel Jaw Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Open Falcon 4.7 uses a GUI app to interface with the pilot config files which, in itself, is simply a way of loading/saving a cockpit setup. So I *THINK* it ought to be possible as an external app...?
