nessuno0505 Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 There are 3 options in the simulator: HMCS in the left eye only, in the right eye only or in both eyes. Since I play VR and I'd like to be closest as possible to the real airplane, how Is the HMCS in real life? Now I have it on the right eye only, as It Is by default. Is this how the real HMCS Is made? Thanks.
biotech Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 One-eye rendering is very uncomfortable and feels like its drawn straight on your eye. I prefer HMCS in stereo, no matter what in real aiplane, cause VR is not HMCS and works different. 1 Спойлер i7 13700KF @ 5,4 GHz; DDR5 64GB RAM; Palit RTX 4090; AOC AG352UCG 35" 3440x1440; Win11. jaylw314 Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 AFAIK the RL implementation is left eye only. I suspect the main reason was simplicity and cost, although it also keeps the HMCS display from obstructing both eyes.
Dunx Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 ... or possibly the right eye? nessuno0505 Posted July 2, 2021 Author Posted July 2, 2021 I do not find It uncomfortable in a single eye; not tried on both eyes, but if IRL it's one eye only it's ok to me

Dragon1-1 Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 It's supposed to go over your dominant eye. IRL, a pilot has an option of mounting it either right or left. 4
Foka Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 I have it set in right eye only. AFAIK it's like it is IRL. But I suppose it should be possible for a pilot to set it up on the left eye?

mastersetter Posted July 20, 2021 Posted July 20, 2021 I think it was one eye at the beginning, and everyone cried about it, so ED gave us an option to have both or either? Single eye is an odd feeling, so i set it to both, not bothered if that's realistic or not. i5-7600K @ 4.8 | 32GB | 1080 | Rift S | TM MFD & WH HOTAS-10mm ext + TFRP
A10Yoda Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 Real world the HMCS monocle goes over the pilots dominate eye.^ this.. although the Original SCOR was for right eye only but that was due to the canter in the mounting brackets. ASAP Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 AFAIK the HMCS in the Hawg is strictly over the right eye, no option to switch to the left. Generally speaking thats the side they carry the TGP on so it makes sense to have them both on the same side.
