bogusheadbox Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 (edited) Since patch, AI after catapult from supercarrier will pull huge amounts of alpha on take off. So much so that a heavy hornet will crash into the sea every time. F 14b will also pull huge alpha but has the power to manage to not crash. I jumped into a hornet with a heavier weight than the AI and can take off of the carrier just fine, while the AI next to me just noses up and slowly sinks until it hits the water. Version 2.7.4.9632 Update 21.07.2021 Only tested with Super carrier, hornets and F-14b Edited July 21, 2021 by bogusheadbox more info
Teetwo Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 I have noticed the something and actually came looking to see if anyone else had encountered it too. It's good to know its just not my AI that have gone crazy.
Gianky Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 Can confirm this bug, I'm playing the Oil in the water campaign and all of the AI Hornet pull high AOA when launched, crashing in the sea.
Teetwo Posted July 24, 2021 Posted July 24, 2021 I did some more testing and it's not just the Hornets that have gone crazy but all the none AI aircraft. If I use any pay module as AI they don't act right.
Nix Mills Posted July 24, 2021 Posted July 24, 2021 Having the same issue here with missions I had created that worked just fine until now. As described, AI Hornets drop into the water after carrier take-off. Vikings and Hawkeyes don't seem to have that problem.
whiskers Posted July 25, 2021 Posted July 25, 2021 Yea I'm getting the same problem. Mission I created was perfectly fine before the patch, I have about 27 knots over the deck, I can take off fine but the AI pulls huge alpha and heavy 3 bag hornets crash into the ocean :S I hope they work out a fix for this soon
DropBear64 Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 Well just to add to this I tried the AI F18 from a land based take off. It flew all the way to target with high AOA so not limited to carrier
arneh Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 Also not limited to take offs, I've experienced several times AI F/A-18 wingmen flying with low speed and crazy high AoA in full burner when they try to do regular climbs.
Gianky Posted July 31, 2021 Posted July 31, 2021 Any ETA on a hotfix for this bug? I have two campaigns on hold and I'm not starting several others because they're impossible to do if AI aircrafts keep doing this... 2
Gryzor Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 Any sort of hotfix planned for this week? most F-18 campaigns are unplayable due this. Thanks. 3
itarrow Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 Same here: DCS single player with any naval op is unplayable now.
Dave317 Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 I wish I'd checked this before I bought a hornet campaign. It's virtually unplayable now. Hopefully it's fixed soon
Taxman Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 I'm really surprised this hasn't been hotfixed yet. It's been nearly 2 weeks and single player carrier missions are completely broken and unplayable.
Gryzor Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 Yes BUT... Remember that this is openbeta, not stable
Nealius Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Stable is delayed Open Beta. Unless the Open Beta build has excessive CTDs, the Stable version gets the exact same builds (and thus exact same bugs) as Open Beta. 1
