MarcT-NL
I understand from the training-mission that turning on the gun-reticle should shift the pilot's position to in front of the gunsight. This doesn't seem to work. I remain in the pilot's seat
Davee
Did you set that option in the setup screen?
bart
I selected the option to move to the gunsight when it was switched on, but nothing happens when I do, no view change. I will continue to test, I may have missed something but as far as I can see at the moment it does not work my end. This is on a MP server. I'm also in VR. dsprag
I was playing around with this, and for me, it won't shift if the gunsight can't actually turn on (i.e. if I'm sitting on the ground, cold). Otherwise, it remains in the default view position. I can't speak to the tutorials as I haven't started in on them yet, but this is what I've seen just fooling around in the mission editor. Gunfreak
Does the seat move or is this a gaming thing? I'm playing in VR so I've just been leaning in. i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 3090, 64Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.

I looked at the special settings for the Mosquito, but couldn't find a setting for that. Could it be that this doesn't work in VR ?
MarcT-NL
Correction. I did find that setting, but it was already in the correct position. I'll try out some of those settings
some1
The setting has no effect in VR, may be intentional. IIRC it's like that in other airplanes too. Morat
No, no effect for me either in VR. We'll be the ones with the stoop after crouching to look down the sight!
Darrylx444
Ah. Good to know. That's really gonna suck for people flying with 3dof-only VR HMD setups, like Pimax with no base stations. jrowland96
Flying in VR, so can't speak to 2D... I've tried both settings in "Special". Switch to gunsight view when gunsight is powered on, and also Always use gunsight view. Pilot view is always left/default view. This DID work in the included Training mission on cockpit familiarity, but doesn't work on my own "free flight" missions (nothing other than flying waypoint to waypoint around channel map with AI. Terry Dactil
I think it is probably disabled for VR. Just lean over a bit to the right as you would in real life. That works for me. I 'm guessing it is just a feature to save a lot of view-shifting keystrokes for the poor buggers still using keyboards and screen.
Nealius
I believe this feature is disabled in VR for the Fw190 and Bf109 as well.

Sucks being left eye dominant. Good thing I have wheels on my chair. I’ll mess around with recenter VR view and deliberately shift Left when I set it, so normal seating should be closer to the sight. StiC
My solution was to lean left, reset my view and return to my natural position.
Farmer
In VR using Pimax 9axis sensor and motion compensation I need that setting specified in the DCS settings to provide at least half the width of the pilots seat to provide alignment with the sight. NB: I have since found by assigning a POV 4 position control to the cockpit camera view it is easy to set virtually any pilot position in the cockpit Edited October 11, 2021 by Farmer
Darbzy
Just lean across - as you’d have to in real life. "I'm not completely worthless, I can be used as a bad example!"
