I think HB has an idea of the next variant, which I believe will be a USN carrier variant. Some of us suspect it'll be a J variant, but that might not be decided yet. 

 

After the Navy variant, who knows!

It'll probably depend on sales of the first two modules (E and Navy), and maybe even more about access to enough data about whatever variants they want to consider.  If the variant you are talking about never went into service... well, they MIGHT do it, but lack of hard data sources, that are legal, might be a steep uphill climb at best, and a showstopper at worst. 

Many people have different ideas of what they want from Phantom modules, some want 1960's era, others want 70's and 80's, and others still want the latest in super upgraded units. Somme want Wild Weasels with HARMs, others want laser designation, some want British Royal Navy variants... and some just want the early glory days of the original Sageburner! I personally see the benefit of photo recon birds... but most of all I want a common Navy or Marine variant to complement the E- International Gunfighter !!

It's also probably going to be Christmas morning, so while the kids run to the tree for presents we run to the computer to start downloading.

Only issue with this is it wont be coming out on a phriday

Nothing really but as it's a reference well known amongst gamers and DCS is still kinda a game (no don't get triggered). So I guess even if the genre is a different one, you can use it.

Also the reference got quite popular even outside of the gaming sub-culture.

This coming patch got pushed to Friday (tomorrow), but I'm not sure it's ready. No preorder or anything and if this patch is the last patch of the year, I expect the bandaid will be ripped off as well. 

 

Hoping for a surprise though!

Wife won a bunch of money playing Bingo Last weekend and slipped me a hundred.

Emergency F-4 funding.

So far, nothing has been officially postponed. Which is actually strange because I think they would have already communicated it if it was clear that it was no longer coming this year.

This is the last vestige of hope I am clinging to for a 2022 release, like hanging on to a cliff edge by the fingernails 

Granted in this metaphor falling off the cliff means like a safe 1ft drop into early 2023 which is totally fine. I will still hope though, no one can stop me 😆

In all likelihood tomorrow we will see Black Shark 3 get released if anything at all.  Given no news from Heatblur yet and the F-15E confirmed not coming this year that seems the most likely to me.
