Seriously yes - it's a terribly distracting thing .. like a mole .... moley moley moley ... Sorry what were you saying about TADS again, Wags?
FiveWire Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 for accuracy purposes, there should probably be a pine tree air freshener dangling somewhere too. 1
Talonfox Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 Helmet hanger hooks like those hanging off the crew station's left "go fast" handle are a type of after-market component and are found on some, but not all of the AH-64 fleet. Request: include a cockpit binding to turn it off, much like the ones that hide the controls when engaged. 4
AvroLanc Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 Why the obsession with removing the hanger? It looks cool, and adds character. Leave it be. There are other animation items that should get much higher priority. 1 3
zaelu Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 I would like them to also slide 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
FalcoGer Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 I'd rather have a special option to get them gone instead of a key binding. It's distracting and probably causing unnecessary physics calculations that just eat up FPS. Also "after-market component" sounds really fancy for what's basically a metal hook. I bet they charge $20 for that thing. 2

ddc196 Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 Man, I was wondering with those dang things were. Thanks! Intel i9-14900KF - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 - 64GB 3200 - Win 11 - 4 TB SSD (game drive) - Quest 3.
MadMaxQcZ Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 - 1 ... I like that feature, cockpit is more alive 2

I still remember many of my BII list from when I was a gun chief... there was one part called breech block retaining tool, It was literally a 6"x1/4" steel rod listed at $400 Edited March 22, 2022 by Sr. Ryzen 7 5800X3D | 64GB DDR4 3600| MSI RTX 4080 16GB Ventus 3X OC | Samsung 970 Evo 2TB NVME | Quest 3 | Logitech X-56 throttle | VKB NXT Premium | Win 11 "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." --Arthur C Clark
FalcoGer Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 I bet they also have a $2000 tool to bend it around the hand holdy thing properly.
TEMPEST.114 Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 They are annoying and don't match the movements of the helo, so getting the extra frame or two back from this unnecessary animation would be great. Thanks. 2
JetCat Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 I personally hope for a hook-update, making these hooks move even more and physically correct. These animations are so next level in the Apache cockpit, the cable of the flashlight is fully animated and moves around, the hook moves, some parts of this AR-15 wobble. Lovely - this cockpit really feels alive and next-gen next-level, and not static at all. So this is a helmet hook. Interesting. I always thought additional weapons or the pilot´s jacket are hanging there while not flying.

I can neither confirm nor deny one of our reactor plants was down for want of a resistor that cost less than a dime at Radio Shack and a few thousand times that as an X3 component. I can also neither confirm nor deny someone (not me this time) bought a set of two from Radio Shack, threw one overboard, and caused a huge stink when the other one was 'discovered'. At least I know why it's over there driving me slowly crazy. Can't stand dangly things that move around in my peripheral vision, because I cue on movement and they distract me!

This is a quest every Jedi learning must, to distinguish between a fresh-car-perfume rearview mirror air refresher tree, a dangling helmet-hook and an enemy hidden between bushes with a Stinger even in a complete dark environment.... 1
cordite Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Anyone figured out how to mod this out? It should be made optional, but ED doesn’t seem to be interested.
azayomi Posted April 28 Posted April 28 It is 2025 and I am still trying to work out how to remove it. It is distracting and pointless. Would love for the animated hook to be gone or a option to remove it. 1
