FalcoGer Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Rotate 90° and push to detonate the canopy sides. Used when cockpit door jammed due to crash or just before ditching in water. Should kill or give concussions to cows and infantry in the line of fire up to 50ft as per Don't forget to put the visor down. 1
frostycab Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 (edited) I'm sorry, but that information should be classified IMO. I know a couple of CPGs who would relish doing this in-flight just to ruin their backseater's day. Edited March 22, 2022 by frostycab
FalcoGer Posted March 22, 2022 Author Posted March 22, 2022 (edited) all they need to do is push the chop button to ruin the day. or the engine fire buttons (when they eventually work correctly). or just unload a hellfire into a friendly airbase and have the pilot be banned for it, because it's "his/her" kill. Or jettison weapons. Or do any other number of stupid nonsense. I think blowing up the canopy is the most harmless thing out of those options. let in a bit of fresh air. Mike Force Team Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 And if only we could have convinced the Army to put ejection seats in the Apache. Sigh, jettisoning the canopy or munitions is as close as we get.
Hiob Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 At least the handle be clickable, and perhaps the side windows blow out? Just curious! "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"
Dangerzone Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 As someone who likes to incorporate CSAR into my missions when pilots eject - I would like to express my support for an option in the AH64 for surviving pilots to be able to bail out or "Eject" (Ctrl + E x 3) from the Apache if they've managed to survive a crash landing with a damaged bird. I'm not sure if it's a simple implementation or not, but if it is an easy implementation - could this please be considered? 7
NeMoGas Posted March 31, 2022 Posted March 31, 2022 The AI already does this, so I imagine it wouldn't be that hard.
GrEaSeLiTeNiN Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Yeah, a needed function. Was in Rotor Ops, after crash landing, no rotors and non-stop shaking in pit. Can't get out, can't respawn. 2 AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | Gigabyte RTX 3070 Gaming OC 8GB | 64GB G.SKILL TRIDENT Z4 neo DDR4 3600Mhz | Asus B550 TUF Plus Gaming | 2TB Aorus Gen4 TM Warthog HOTAS | TrackIR 5 | Windows 10 Home x64 | My HOTAS Profiles

Kang Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Seems like a small oversight, really. After all, the other helicopters have this option and it's mostly a matter of adding the keybind. 1
dmatt76 Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 No, it is not just a keybind. Apache uses brand new pilot models, so it requires a complete set of body 3d meshes and animations while on the ground. You need standing pilot and CPG, walking, etc. Maybe they add it after releasing upcoming new models of ground units...
NeMoGas Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 The AI can eject and it does what all DCS mods do, it spits out a generic pilot model. No new models required. It would be nice if every mod actually ejected their nice high detail pilot models, but DCS in general does not do that. 4
HiJack Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 (edited) +1 for keybind to eject crashed apache. Edited November 9, 2022 by HiJack
