Hey to all

Why when I change from pilot to CPG seat the comms do not work?

Thanx

Did you make sure to increase all the volume knobs and flip the squelch switches?

Maybe share a track file showing your issue

Especially the Master Volume, which by looking at it seems to be maxed out, but you still need to turn it down and back up again. If you do it with all the squelch switches OFF, you will hear when the volume kicks in. Then you can turn on all squelch again...

Did you do separate bindings for the CPG controls? I can't remember right now and I haven't done CPG for a while, but fairly sure you need to bind comms keys for both pilot and CPG.

I also want to ask why the fuel stays the same even if I load an external fuel tank.

From the manual, page 106:

"External Aux Fuel Input. The 230-gallon external auxiliary fuel tanks lack fuel quantity sensing probes. If external auxiliary tanks are installed, the aircrew must input the amount of fuel in the external auxiliary tanks at button L5."

I really cannon understand, I cannot even tune my flight when the comm is 100% right

You haven't really explained what the problem is.

Is the communications menu not appearing?

Is it appearing, but nobody is responding?

If you aren't going to attach a track file, you should tell us exactly what you are doing and what the problem is. Saying "it isn't working" isn't enough information.

when I takeoff, I press / and nothing happens. I preset 235 for instance for my flight, I hit \ but nothing happens, the comm menu does not appear.

You have to use the PTT instead of the \ key, and select the radio, from the manual:

RTS/ICS PTT. Radio and ICS push-to-talk switch.

• ICS (Right). When held, transmits over the intercommunications system.

• RADIO (Left). When held, transmits over the selected radio.

• RTS (Depress). Moves the radio transmit select (RTS) down to the next radio on the EUFD. If HF radio is selected, moves RTS back up to VHF.

Honestly lost count of how many threads there have been over several modules about this issue over the years.  There ought to be a huge sticky somewhere saying 'the COMMS menu only works on the ground'!

yes you have to

and yes / is only working on ground or with "easy comms" (or "simple comms", you name it) enabled.

In every modul you should make sure to use the right comm keybinds as long as you dont use easy comms.

as Rudel perfectly stated keybind "RADIO (left)" for radio calls over the chosen radio (vhf, uhf, fm1, fm2 or hf) and the setted freq. Standard DCS key commands can be found in your options menu.

Btw it is all in the quick start manual and there are like a zillion threads about this...

And in extra large font, just to make sure. And include switching on the Radar Altimeter on there too.

SRS bug. It won't start at 100% with SRS uninstalled. Jiggling the master volume (any change) will resynchronize.

I tell people '/' key is for shouting out the window. It's not a radio so it won't work except canopy open, engine off, etc. like shouting would work. Easy comms had done a lot of harm to the understanding of how radio communications is supposed to work. Of course it's necessary to have an "in person voice" option for talking but simply not bringing up the menu and the not clear title at the top of the menu has caused so much confusion.

Posting screen grabs of VAICOM settings won't really help people without VoiceAttack/VAICOM. 🙂

Cheers!
