EDIT: To provide context, this is a reply to something someone else said. It isn’t a statement as such, so this not being posted on these forums officially isn’t us being ignored.

I love the enthusiasm as usual /u/Mode1961, especially since you've been bouncing around thread to thread announcing this delay already 🙂 (Strong sense of dejavu too, it feels like 2018 again!)

I'll just head this off once again though by quoting myself from last week for those interested:

We're behind as to where we expected to be at this time due to the war and my own personal tragedies - but we're standing on the gaspedal at this point to make up time.

I know that is ambiguous; but I can't offer anything more substantial than assurances that we're doing everything we can to unveil and launch as soon as possible.

And my follow up post from the day before yesterday:

We're behind our projected schedule at present due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and my own personal tragedies, but we're working hard to make up for lost time...

...Don't extrapolate silence or ambiguity to a negative conclusion - we simply prefer to do a full and thorough unveiling like we did with the F-14 and AJS-37 once we feel ready.

Yeah i have heard that HB have one or two employees living in Ukraine so that certainly puts a dent in the schedule. Hopefully they are safe and sound.  
If the release happens to be delayed into Q1 2023 I am fine with it. A fu**ing war is a valid excuse. Regardless I still have full confidence in HB's abilities and and drive to deliver this year

Seeing the username of the redditor who kicked off that exchange really brought me back to the big reason I stopped bothering with Hoggit (and reddit in general to be honest). There are better ways to keep up with what is going on in DCS without having to deal with the usual social media nonsense.

Given the circumstances yeah, obviously can't really complain if it gets pushed back. My only hope with that is we get some sort of quickie announcement to say so. At the same time, I fully believe in their drive to still make it happen, and hope they can pull it off.

Why they have not made a comment here like that to explain what is going on is beyond me. The situation is totally understandable IMHO they should make a statement here on where it stands since its obvious we will not see it any time soon. I know it seems they are saying they are making every effort and speeding things up to get it out but on something as complex as developing a Hi-Fi flightsim module doing that can create more issues than it solves and cause further delays. I am not optimistic we will see the F-4 any sooner than a year from now or longer. Mainly because of the silence from HB on it. But then again I am the Glass half empty kinda personality so I am hoping and praying I am wrong....

What I may not have made clear in the OP is that this was a reply to something someone else said, not an announcement per se (I’ve added a note explaining this in the OP).

It would be nice to have something official, even if that is just an affirmation that they still hope it will be this year. The “Phantom Phorever” teaser was great but I don’t think we’ve heard much from them since, I think a lot of us expected to see our YouTubers showcasing this by now.

You are right and its why I am not very optimistic of seeing it any time soon if at all. I mean even the F-14 had more information out while in development than they have done for the F-4. I guess they just do not want to have to be answering questions about it is why they are silent on it.

Some time ago there was a statement that they only really wanted to show something shortly before release. So I wouldn't attach too much importance to that. I think HB is still trying to release the F4 this year and sees it as realistic. Let's keep our fingers crossed that they succeed.

It would be so much easier if I was not so existed that there is an F-4 coming. Its the #1 aircraft I have wanted in a high end sim for 30 years LOL.....

The anticipation is killing me....

one reason they might remain quiet might be because they don't wanna "razbam" the module by building to much hype. I honestly think their biggest mistake was announcing the A-6 way to early so now people remain sceptical about HB's abilities to deliver. However I don't think they would say it was coming in 2022 unless they were fairly certain it could be done  and they seem quite determent from what I've seen. I'm remaining carefully optimistic about the F-4 before christmas
