This is truly disappointing. @OnReTech, I would really appreciate a few words from someone who can autoratively speak for your company. You gave us a fantastic outlook of what is to come, built a lot of goodwill, and many people here (including me) are looking forward to an update that is much needed. It's almost a year without any updates, and, unfortunately very visibly, you efforts have been outpaced by the kind people at Orbx, who managed to push out their first Kola update. I think that this is starting to make you look bad - a one-year update cycle is IMHO too long.

So, if you can, anyone at @OnReTech, please give us a (status) update. We know that you are working on the update, yet for us customers perception is reality. And my perception is that very little -- too little -- is moving forward.

I came here to, sadly, say the same thing. While I understand the challenges, priorities, and there are things we as end-users don't see, it does appear, again to me as an end-user, that this map is indeed, abandonware. I will use it as I have until now, but I have no hope for any meaningful updates whatsoever at this point.

I’m annoyed by the lack of updates for this map and the lack of communication and accountability by OnReTech.

I’m disappointed for believing the hype and enthusiasm with which this map was sold to us.

I’m sorry to say but I regret buying this map and wish I spent my money on something else.

I feel let down to buy a map that is in EA when it takes weeks or months to get any reply from the devs and when they finally reply it is like ‘we are working on it’…

there are zero updates for the map, what is it, six months or so since it first came out, I lost count. The map is far from anywhere to be completed.

@BIGNEWY I know you made an update a few months ago but it would really be appropriate if ED pushed @OnReTech to at least fix some bugs on this map and then focus on further development and with a hard deadline thats fairly close. e.g July update or something of the sort.
Additionally @OnReTech should update the roadmap as I have mentioned before with actual achievable goals rather than go radio silent.
Ive said it before but will say it again. People will generally accept a lot if there is open communication around issues and delays in process. but say nothing and people will assume that they have been scammed. And this is where a lot of users are right now, thinking @OnReTech is a scam.

It seems to me that the devs are perfectionists and took a “one massive update to rule them all” approach here rather than an incremental rolling out of new assets, airfields, bug fixes. I don’t doubt that @OnReTech will come through and deliver, but as a new developer, I think an important lesson can be learned here: incremental can be better than one giant update, and more accurate timelines with clear ongoing communication is important.

I have no feeling of being scammed or regretting the purchase, I simply think the good intentions of the dev have taken much longer than anticipated and that they have a few things to learn about communications, project scheduling, and more incremental updates.

We are keen for any kind of communication from ORT. Not for runarounds like this reply.

How hard it is to say "Sorry for the delay, we're alive and hope the update will be ready soon, although we cannot give you a firm release date" ?

Why ghosting us completely, knowing people are anxious after multiple deadline busts?

Thank you for taking the time and chiming in, @BIGNEWY. I believe that many of us are keenly aware of the fact that Sinai is EA, and that it "can take time". I also believe that there may be some differing expectations as to how long "take time" is. I feel that it would be quite beneficial if the kind people at @OnReTech stepped in and did some expectation management. We are rapidly approaching the one year mark without any updates, and few people would agree that one year is 'some time'. Many think it's rather a lot of time. ORT made a lot of people happy (me included) when they released a fantastic (if flawed) product, and then posted their roadmap. That was a good showing, and my confidence in ORT rose - along with all our expectations.

It's a bit heartbreaking to me to admit that ORT, due to very sparse communication, and no updates (not even for tiny issues like correcting the Bullseye locations) is rapidly losing my confidence, and is seemingly unwittingly burning Karma at an astonishing rate. A single message prior to the May 21/22 release would have been enough to tide most of us over. That being said, I'm staring to doubt some of ORT's decisions wrt quality aspirations vs releasing something: sometimes it's better to knowingly - and publicly owning that - release a flawed product rather than unduly testing their customer's patience. 12 Months is a very long time between updates. If you go that long as a publisher, talk to your customers, build some trust. I'm hoping that we'll soon the promised updates. And more importantly, I'm hoping that we hear sooner, and more often, from ORT.

Thank you.

Dear friends and pilots. :pilotfly:

We apologize for map update delay, this will be a good lesson for us in the future.
We are confident that the update will be released soon, we are working hard on it.

But rest assured that we read feedback and look at new bugs and improvements from users.

We are preparing not just an update that will fix most of the bugs, but massive map improvement that provide more flying options and adds new visual content.
We have already finished modeling airports and unique objects that were announced before. Now we work on unique scenes and map optimization.
Most of the time is spent on small improvements and bug fixing, although globally it already seems that everything is done.

For every small update, it is necessary to build the entire project and update must be approved, then users need to download it, this is inconvenient in our opinion.
That's why we decided to release Phase 3 along with the bugs fixed, but we didn't take into account the time factor, which goes by very quickly.

Thank you for your patience and support.

Thank you for the headsup and the previews look great as always. The main reason people are upset is because before and after release Q1 2024 was supposed to have wrapped up Phase 3 and even 4 and the map be out of EA. Now we are almoszt in June 2024 with 0 updates since release. Thus the frustration. I still think Sinai has the potential to become the best DCS map so far.

This is NOT how EA works..

Almost half a year ago, Jan 27, we got an update 'we will have an update soon'

Sorry to sound grumpy but actions speak louder than words. I paid for this map June 2023 and am still waiting to see an update...

Am I wrong or am I still seeing the BE bug in your screenshot? Just push a hot fix and rid us of this annoyance. Also, just to put it out there - bug fixing and feature addition are two completely different things. You CAN fix a bug, and don't have to WAIT for a big update that includes feature addition. If that's your excuse for not fixing some of the major issues this map is having, it's not a good one.

Rubbish.

I'm very disappointed that there have been no updates in 10 months. This needs to be discussed as I would definitely like to see their methodology change. There are legitimate concerns that need to be addressed and considered in the future. But slandering them by calling it abandonware when the dev's are still here and posting in this thread only 12 posts above showing progress is misleading at best and doesn't help anyone. Unless of course, you have some information that shows that the company has truly abandoned their product, and that the posts above by their dev's are fraudulent in nature, that you would like to share besides updates taking longer than you or I would like?
