  • Fixed aircraft in place when chocks are active, avoiding deck sliding on carriers.

Hi !

I'm sorry but unfortunately it's a no....

When the carrier do a hard and long turn the plane still slide and fall into the sea (tested in MP Multi crew, sorry no screenshot of the fall itself)).

Chocks have many issues for the player (it rotates with wheels) and synch issues between the two players in multicrew.

Thank you, we will take a look!

EDIT: This is caused by the tires rotating before spawn or having rotated after landing. We uploaded a last minute fix for it, but it seems it unfortunately did not make it into the patch anymore. It will be in the next patch, our apologies.

Can be tires rotating at spawn or rotating while sliding on the deck. The screenshot at parking is after landing without rotating wheels (pilot see chocks in a position, rio in an other one).

In flight it was only the right chocks visible and only for RIO. Calling chocks off via radio menu by rio made it disappeared.

Cold Start in a shelter at Kobuleti and told chief to remove the wheelchocks. He confirms they are off, but they aren´t. They are still visible and the only way to leave the shelter is to start taxi with afterburner,

Do you use Vaicom or the F10 menu?

I've found that when I use the Vaicom voice command to remove the wheelchocks, I get the exact same result as you describe (confirmation, but nothing happens). OTOH, using the F10 menu does work as it should (although admittedly  I haven't yet tried in a shelter in Kobuleti). 🤷‍♂️

Yes, i use Vaicom. I wIll give it a go without tonight. In the Hornet it works flawless btw.

Edit: What worked with Viacom was to place the Wheelchocks after landing. There then is the issue with the strange placement.

Wheel chocks on the right side can be seen by the pilot from the cockpit but are not visible on the left wheels. This is probably connected to the similar old bug with wheels themselves not visible on the left side.

Just for info: Removing the Wheelchocks via Vaicom doesn´t work, doing it via the normal Menu does. Kind of strange as everything else works with Vaicom  (Groundpower, Air Supply etc.).

It seems like there is just an Vaicom issue with the wheel chocks at the moment. Probably something got messed up after a certain update and it should be repaired by the new Vaicom team. If it works with the F10 menu (it works that way for me, and I'm experiencing the same issue using the Vaicom as you described) it's probably not DCS related.

i do not have viacom.

but last night, me and a friend landed on the george washington CVN73.

i was the RIO

when we trapped, the wheel chocks where on (im not sure when they appeared because I did chase view once we landed)

but definitely my pilot did not request for chocks.. we even had a collision by other plane landing because my pilot couldn't unhook in time.

there is a wierd issue with the wheel chocks

Another minor nitpick - the wheel chocks appear and disappear even before the crew says "copy".

It seems like the chocks don't really follow the usual logic of ground crew, I wonder if it even follows the availability or hearing of the ground crew - when landing on a road or non-friendly airport.

This is intentional. The idea is if you’re trying to prevent the aircraft from falling off a suddenly slanting carrier deck, you want the chocks now, not two seconds from now

Sorry, I meant that the F-14 deck crew are extremely motivated, more so than their Hornet or Harrier compatriots, and rapidly accomplish the task before communicating.

flying as a RIO on a multiplayer server, i have observed that the wheel chocks protrude the 3d model during flight, gears up and stowed during flight...

As a human RIO you can solve that by requesting ground crew to remove chocks yourself. You don't need to be near the ground crew, you can even do it when airborne.

my pilot has already removed them before take off.

once in the air, and with gears up, you can see wheel chocks sticking out of the plane.

its an obvious glitch, and has happened a few times.

I recall seeing this listed as a known issue recently , but can't recall where exactly.

Yes I know, there is a photo of it in the original post. It's a bug that needs to be fixed. I was just telling you that you can remove the chocks as the RIO even in flight as a work around until it's fixed.
