ED wanted to release the F4U first and didn't want the La-7 taking sales from it, or OG is still polishing it. Those are the only reasons I can think of why we don't have the Lavochkin yet

I agree. I think that before the release of the MiG-29, nothing will be released for sale either - therefore the minimum possible release date for the La-7 is a couple of months after the release of the MiG-29.

or the developer seeing the big picture, the reputational and tha financial situation, found excuses and decided not to release the module yet

OctopusG:

"A small update. To break the long silence, we decided to share a few lines about the current state of the project. Since the FM approval, a lot of work has been done — including the implementation of life-support and emergency systems, configuration of failures and wear, bug fixing, documentation writing, and creation of the necessary content. As the well-known saying goes, the remaining 10% of the work takes 90% of the time. Thank you for your attention and patience."

Loving the run to the cockpit & climb in feature

On fact, the video dont shot the "climb" feature, only a moving camera.

Then they did a nice job, because the 'moving camera' casts the shadow of a head on the aircraft as it climbs up &  of a body & head once it's on the wing.

If you watch the entire video from the beginning, it's recorded from the perspective of the pilot's body (meaning, he had to put it outside and move it as if he'd parachuted), and it's also accelerated to simulate running... That could be easily done, but if you look closely, the moment he "enters the cockpit," it suddenly changes to a simple camera. And yes, I had noticed the head next to the cockpit, but you don't see the same "experimental" animation as on the MiG-29A. It just changes abruptly.

In itself, the position of the head, precisely when the camera switches, is not relevant.

The in-cockpit engine sounds like the fw190 A8 when viewed outside. O. Key. Weird.

Devs, please, give us the ability to modify the motor sounds if needed (don't encrypt them). So I can add the low fq rumble, or just bump up the bass here and there...

I mean, really people?? you always find something to argue about, but I read nothing about the gorgeous looking 3D model, gorgeous looking cockpit, gorgeous looking physics of the landing gear and suspension system bouncing at start up and taxi like I hadn't seen before in DCS, then it slides a bit but shows how sturdy the gear is anyway and despite it's not on grass or rough earth, and the tail wheel also behaves sooo nicely and realistically. I can't tell about flight physics because I wasn't at the controls, but it looks good by now. Many things are seen in that video, and you all only argue about whether the obvious camera effect for climbing into the cockpit is an effect (it should be, we haven't that in DCS, yet) or not… 🤦‍♂️

The module looks amazing, will get it just to support Octopus amazing work and to experience that kind of engine management. I don't really care that much by now about the combat and possible missions and maps to be used on, but it's a must module looking so great and I'll have it.

It can be used on the Kola map and Germany map, it  looks amazing.

Instant buy for me.

What I find disappointing with 3rd party modules the WWII ones , its the damage model, DCS does not give 3rd party creators a license or tools to make the DM as detailed as their own modules, so we end up with a very detailed plane to fly and fight, but with a poor damage model.

As I understand it, they are allowed to use the X-ray damage model if they wish to do so.

We generally encrypt things we find can be abused, stolen or used as cheats. Sounds might fall under this for sure.

This was the reply from the developers of the Corsair with regards to the damage model.

yup, understood. How about adding an EQ (sound equalizer) option to the engine/motor sound?  😄

ED said in the latest news that OctopusG is still adjusting the flight model and damage model of La-7,and said ED looks forward to making it available later this year. This is really confusing.I seriously suspect that ED is deliberately delaying the release of La-7.I think La-7 could be released as early as 2023.I guess F4U is also deliberately delayed by ED.I think F4U could be released as early as 2021.Magnitude 3 said in 2020 Christmas update Starting with F4U-1D Corsair, we are happy to report that the module is in its final stages of development.

ED said in the latest news they believe La-7 would be available in early 2026,that's crazy😅I have been thinking ED keep delaying the release of La-7 is because ED doesn't want to release La-7 before IL-2 GB releases their La-7.

At what point did ED "promise" a release? Because the press release doesn't say anything about that. It says that a release is expected... which is something completely different.

OctopusG is in the final stages of development on their La-7, and they have provided an initial build for evaluation prior to full, internal testing. Based on test results, we believe that this eagerly awaited warbird will be available in early 2026. In the meantime, we’re pleased to pass along a more detailed progress report.

Furthermore, the "final tests" of a product are usually the toughest during development...And please, let's not go back to the "ED delays the La-7" argument because it's complete nonsense. And no, the tired argument of "ED wants to release the Hellcat first" doesn't work for me, because there haven't been any videos or images on the last weeks. All development teams have problems with modules, like ASC with the C-130. Just because some are "desperate" doesn't mean we have to have a launch. It seems some people just want it to fail so they can criticize it.
