I am bidding on the version we are getting its probably the 1967 version used in NAM. I wouldn't expect glass cockpit display or digital instruments... I would expect A LOT of round dial instruments..

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Please give us an optional refueling probe.

Are there any CH47's with a refuel probe? AFAIK in the US, only the MH47 have a refuel probe attached. Not sure about other countries.
I would appreciate a MH47 with wide fuel body, refuel probe and all the other tech, but I highly doubt we get that lucky. Spec Ops stuff doesnt really fit into the scope of ED sadly.

Well, there are some logistic scripts in MP around. You loadup stuff on Point A and fly them to Point B. Delivering ammo to FARPS and Airfields.
Sure, it gives you a purpose, but its lacking any immersion. No soldiers visible in the back, no possibilty to jump out and walk around. No helping loading stuff into the bird.

At the current stage, I would say flying rotary is more fullfilling in Arma than DCS. Too bad the flight/damage model in Arma is bad.

This is why at this moment I have the Apache, Hind and Black Shark 3 and never bought the Mi-8.

Yep, if DCS slingloading gets improved….there‘s great options slingloading with CH-47. It has 3 Cargohooks under the fuselage to deal best with different loads.

The Mi-8 cockpit could use some love, but it flies like a dream. Not that it's easy, but that it's good. Really has a great feel to it.

But really looking forward to the big ass Chinook.

Some of the planes, but all of the maps!

Despite not wanting to buy more modules until I'd got some use out of the last 3 I bought and have had no time in, I would have thrown my money at this had it been an analogue cockpit, especially being an ex-Support Helicopter Force member (for 18sqn Chinooks and 230sqn Pumas) - but glass cockpits don't do it for me at all.

yes, but it's 2 more weeks from now just to be clear, this message is continually relevant until its release.

It is more fullfilling, indeed, but for reasons like complex and close interactions with other players, graphic fidelity of a terrain, etc. The advanced flight model in Arma isn't that bad. Rotor Dynamics libraries are of military-grade, but those implemented in Arma lacks crucial modules, a real shame. However, both RTD and a damage model are modable to a great extent.

The same here, really. I guess, we are old schoolers, aren't we? 😁

Been more than two weeks, unless this was the usual “two weeks” joke…. Really excited for this to drop, always loved that bird!

Well let's see...

[ ] WIP external 3D renders released
[ ] WIP internal cockpit 3D renders released
[ ] Teaser trailer released
[ ] Early look videos by Wags released
[ ] List of planned features for early access and full release published

Maybe we'll have to wait another two weeks... 😉

You couldn't have possibly expected an actual 2 week release for this.... Personally I'm not expecting a 2023 release for this. I'm just as excited but the trailer just means that ED will develop it, not that its about to drop.
