I don’t believe you could make another game have native support for OpenXR by copying the dll. You would still need to use OpenComposite as far as I know. For this config to run: - open SteamVR, go to options->developer and set SteamVR as the used runtime for OpenXR - have OpenXR Toolkit installed - use "--force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR" params when runing DCS (like you would, when using the new native OpenXR implementation in DCS) - turn on reprojection via WMR for SteamVR menu - set your OXRTK preferences as usual The game resolution is based on SteamVR options (not the OpenXR Tools for Windows Mixed Reality app) Anyway, for me, the best result is still to use 60Hz, no reprojection, OpenXR with Toolkit and try to hit that 60FPS for smoothness. 2 minutes ago, Sr. said: I haven't seen a need for motion smoothing/reprojection while running at 60Hz. it's already smooth It's smooth if you can manage to get that 60FPS, but on RTX 3060 and Reverb G2, that's not an easy feat. 1 SYSTEM SPECS: AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, 32GB RAM, RTX 4090, HP Reverb G2, VKB Gladiator NXT Premium, Thrustmaster TWCS Throttle SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 10, Joystick Gremlin, OpenKneeboard, VoiceAttack
DutchCoolHand Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 (edited) I finally had the time to update the OpenXR toolkit this afternoon. Today I noticed one more thing - even if I manage to have right picture orientation, the HMD mask (shader) is upside down. Is anyone having this? nullnull I had got exactly the same issue as you experienced this morning and I think it is OpenXR related issue . I have been able to run DCS in VR via the short-cut of the program + command line since the update and the program has been running ok apart from being not that sharp in comparison with the image quality before the update . Everytime I check DCS log and the log always indicates the program runs in OpenVR. However this morning for some reason I got " image upside down " which could not be corrected by " center button" . I check the log and log reveals the program runs " LAUNCH IN VR OpenXR: Windows Mixed Reality". It has never happened to me before, interesting ! I wonder if the "--openXR "line could be deleted for the time being . BTW I have to run the "command line " method when the toolkit set to be the safe mode , otherwise DCS crushes.

I think the upside down and backwards problem was determined to be a problem with XRNeckSafer - assuming you are using that. To fix that problem select "Deactivate XRNS OpenXR API Layer" from the OpenXR menu in necksafer

To fix that problem start XRNS first, then DCS.exe --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR. When in the DCS hangar put on headset and then press the XRNS/DCS center button.

It just seems like using SteamVR (with a WMR headset) would mitigate any advantage since you have to add another application in the chain. Granted, that's getting outside of my expertise. Unless I'm mistaken though (which could very well be), WMR for SteamVR is still required? But then maybe it's not any different than having/needing OpenXR for WMR...

Just a brief feedback to my problem with a flickering headset. It seems going back to an older driver (AMD Adrenalin 22.5) solved this and some other problems with GoogleEarthVR.
