DCS now supports OpenXR natively

I have a support ticket started but so far no change have renamed saved games and let dcs reload still the same. Heres latest dcs log

Adrenalin 23.1.1 (Amernime alternative driver for AMD videocards) works well for me (no flicker, about +5-10% performance compared to official Adrenalin 22.11.2). Radeon RX 6900 XT.

@BIGNEWY I still have people coming to me saying it doesnt work, simply because they update their existing shortcut which is for DCS_updater.exe, not DCS.exe.

Could you edit your post to make that very clear? Like 1) create a new shortcut to DCS.exe, 2) add --force...

hello, I have force with the addition ( --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR ) and it is installed correctly
but when I launch DCS the game loads then nothing the white dot on the window no longer moves as if I no longer had a mouse!
What should I do ?

I noticed that finally the game hangs either at 50% Either when it arrives on the window in DCS where there is the list

Are you using motion reprojection without using the OpenXR Toolkit 1.2.4?

Does anyone know how OpenXR does work together with multiple DCS installs, e.g. stable and beta?

It seems to have registry entries only for "DCS World" in my case and I have different DCS versions installed.

Stable doesn't have OpenXR support, so it's likely the one under OpenComposite_DCS instead?

Well, stable was a bad example at least for now. My point was more that - in principle - you can have lots of DCS installs. For example, as a tester I have the open beta and a closed beta installed, which both have OpenXR support. But it seems that OpenXR supports only one "DCS World" entry in the registry.

Well, stable was a bad example at least for now. My point was more that - in principle - you can have lots of DCS installs. For example, as a tester I have the open beta and a closed beta installed, which both have OpenXR support. But it seems that OpenXR supports only one "DCS World" entry in the registry.

19 pages I've read through and I'm still unsure what to do if I want to revert from the opencomp method to the new native method on a G2. It seems like it was asked a couple times but not directly answered. I currently use opencomp for DCS and for nullIL2. I would want to keep the IL2 implementation of course. What do I need to do just specifically for DCS?

You don't need to do anything with open composite, native openxr DCS is seen as a new executable by openxr toolkit so just add the necessary shortcut command line switches and it will pick up from there

If it doesn't start up straight away then you might need to start toolkit in safe mode, start up DCS and restore defaults on the ingame menu.  Close DCS, turn off safe mode and it should work properly; just got to set up your options again.

If you get rid of the command line switches then DCS will open via opencomposite again.

If you open a DCS.exe it will run the opencomp 

If you run the DCS.exe --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR    it will run Native OXR

Maybe the problem isnt that you have too many answers but too many questions about it I suppose ;). The answer is on the beginning, just 1-3 pages.

I think FAQ is needed (myabe on official DCS webpage).

Do you happen to know of a step by step 'how to' for installing?

I tried a couple time yesterday using the normal and command line processes. Could never really get it to finish.

At one stage I saw an error flash by on one screen, and 2nd attempt I was stuck in a loop on menu where I was to set option for Adding DVR and/or VR something or other. Any/Every option I chose just brought me right back to the same screen.

After the fail, I did another DDU wipe, and fresh install of the AMD software though somehow I ended up with the "Creator" version instead of Adrenaline and I can definitely say the performance is better. On Adrenaline I had to run 2994 resolution in OXR to stay in the 14-15ms GPU frametime. With Creator, I was able to push the res back up to 3152 and achieve the same performance and frametimes.

Thank you Edmuss even though I have read this forum a few times trying figuring out my problem I was somehow still getting it backwards.

I believe I'm fixed after  2 slow repairs with deleting the extra files and a new saved games reload things seem to be working. When it would hang up my SRS radio tab would change from the startup freqs to unknown. Now it changes to the radio set of which ever jet I enter. So I don't know if it was a SRS or DCS that was losing track of things. So fingers crossed for tonights squad mission.

You mean OpenXR Toolkit I believe. 

There is no solution to that, you will just have to share the settings in OpenXR Toolkit across your multiple installs.
