Lechfeld is completely overrated.

Important is Northern Germany.

 

Anyway, I would be glad to get ANY German map in ANY time frame.

Fassberg = Northern Germany?! From my point of view anything south of the river Eider is Bavaria and dark land ...   

But motorcycle race is accepted. Even if I preferred Oschersleben during my active racing times.

By the way: Over that location a heavy air battle took place in WWII.

Both are different, southern region with so called Fulda Gap consist of mountain corridors and passes and big elevation amplitudes, northern region is basically flat North German Plain.

i was stationed in Wildflecken. This was the furthest east permanent unit in germany. fulda gap was about 15 km from fulda gap. we went on alerts to the border all the time. south of the gap. there is a little protuberance of land between states hessen and thuringia. the latter being in the east. it sticks out into the west. lost of eastern units were there.

My favorit track, too. Did a two hour endurance race there once (two riders, one bike). One of the best experiences in my life.
