The reason for the long patch time is obviously because they've finally decided to fix the guns on the F86.

I think someone need lower your expectations...

Personally I can't because it's already at zero. As there never is any "planned features list" for the next patch announced before the patch itself it's obvious that nothing is preliminary "promised". No one mentioned MT or DLSS for this exact next patch, we don't know ANYTHING about it, so we can't expect more than nothing. It's easy.

When the patch will be ready then we can read the patch notes and be happy.

If the next patch is just what was announced on Friday (the radio for the A-10 II and three new campaigns) and nothing more (like multithreading or DLSS), then that seems like an exceptionally long time between patches for those features (announced a full month before), and like they're having an awfully hard time testing those features. Just saying.

Expectations low, speculation high. We are a predictable bunch.

Yup, it's obviously not V for Victory holding the release up. As complex as they are, Reflected does a good job testing his campaigns. 🙂 Although, I can easily imagine this big feature being shunted into the next patch to allow for the things in question to be released. Having just figured out how to take off in the Mossie without burying my wing in the ground, I'm eyeing V for Victory, although I've got so much unfinished content that I'm not sure if I'll be buying on release.

I still don’t understand what’s so amazing about a new radio for the a10 and why it’s taken so long. Even watching the video by Wags just has me thinking “so what”

I was mentioning to someone that the A-10 is a world unto itself. I like it because it is so complex and I forget so much that I always feel like I just bought it and it's brand new plane with all kinds of fancy new tricks to learn. I'm not into the plane to that extent, but some are.

It really is a masterclass in flightsim module building. I bought The A-10C II for full price, $124.26Cdn. tax-in, in Oct. 2020. (I checked.) That's a chunk o' change, but I always felt like I got my money's worth. The plane feels super-premium. And I guess that includes the fancy new radio.

Some of the planes, but all of the maps!

Yeah, he kind of gives it for granted, and I wish it were finally, but not sure if it's really already coming or what.

I very much like the A10, was my 2nd purchase after the Blackshark2. I still go back to it every couple months even after “flying” it for over a decade.

Have the altimeters on the vertical stablilizers been added already? I haven't flown the plane for some time but I remember that it was mentioned in a post.

this is not about adding, this is a bug the a10 of yore used to have these working 11 years ago but hey haven't been fixed
check the radar altimeter after the bomb when he banks

¿someone dont read the 2023 official news?

ED dont go to put a "DLSS coming on march , Vulkan to september, DC to July and World map to december", NO. ED intent them on 2019 / 20 and someone start a Witch search with torches and pitchforks by them...

ED develop continue without a release a fixed date... and that has not some "Space Combat Simulator" with millions of $ and 700 developers.

Silver Dragon is just marketing choise, right for someone and bad for another one. I think that this forum is a good picture for choosing the right direction while i waiting a timeline and a moment for play with a good engine.

Support for VR that doesn't lower image quality and destroy GPU raw performance would be a good start...

Quote

Virtual Reality
VR is very important for all and we have heard your concerns regarding performance and we continue to optimize VR performance for DCS. The primary areas of VR performance improvement are multithreading and the Vulkan API, particularly for larger missions. We are also reviewing all world Level of Details (LODs).

We'll see how this pans out. I'm not sure multithreading is going to be the solution for a top heavy implementation of VR in this game, the issues are not with the players PC performances but in the increased demand put on them, the heavier the app, the more we'll need from our PCs, not good enough.

Then they think in terms of FPS when the image quality is way lower than what it was a month ago, I understand people want more FPS but if it come at the cost of clarity it's not the solution either...

Vulkan API? Not sure about this one, watching the video...

Actually, you pretty much summed up the history of PC gaming in one line, yeah. Is it really surprising for you? 🤣

No it doesn't, what surprises me is that this one happened not in a couple of decade but in a month and one update, I had better time flying VR with a 5600X, 32GB of Cl14 and a 1080Ti than with a 3 grand PC designed for the purpose, just saying, something went south, big time....

So back on January 27th, ED announced on the patch thread that the next update would be on March 1st. Then @BIGNEWY updated the thread to say, more or less, that "Yes there really isn't going to be a February patch update, the next one really is not going to hit until March 1st, please stop messaging me about it." Then March 1st came around, and we know the patch got delayed again. All I want to know is why has it been delayed? Especially after we went all of February without an update. I get that ED needs more time to test something, but what is it that needs more testing? I don't mind waiting for the next update, I just want to know what it is that I am waiting for. I hope that's not too much to ask...

Well, actually, yes it is too much to ask 🤣 🤣🤣 .

It happens all the time, people ask (I want to think genuinely and humbly ask… 🙄 ) why this or that happened. Now think about it a second time. What do you care they're looking for an impossible to squeeze out of place coma or the latest Vulkan iteration changed whatever they have to change all over the already done work, or whatever it is? Any of that tells you nothing about when it's going to be released or the result you're going to see in game when it's released, which, in the end, is what you really are asking for mate.

We all, not you alone, are awaiting eagerly for the next development enhancements and all. Don't worry, the day it's released you'll notice like everyone else. Just be patient mate, we all have to be, believe me, you aren't alone in that 😉 .

Fortunately, I have a much better idea of what it is that I am asking for than you do. I would encourage you to not just read my original post, but to actually comprehend its meaning rather than making pretentious statements that distract from the issue. 😉

It was delayed because it wasn't ready, the Specifics on what wasn't ready doesn't matter. It wasn't ready, it was delayed.

If you want specifics as to what delays software, then you need to prepare to be disappointed because most major developers don't share specifics on pre-release software code issues, and the one's that do usually regret it (cough 343, cough cough)....

It's the nature of the beast,

The Communication is there, but specifics are usually only communicated internally due to the nature of the beast....

When too much laundry is air out, the community goes nuts (again.. cough...343... cough).
