cctoide Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 (edited) New Joint Fires Training video on Wags' YouTube account has better A-10 footage than the last one: edit: Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the song starting at 1:30 has a proper name? I only know it as the 1.0.2 BS MP music, I was wondering if it was composed specifically for BS. edit2: "Lopster" by Dmitry S. Baikov. Edited June 17, 2010 by cctoide [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

HitchHikingFlatlander Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 We can hope Cat we can hope. How cool would it be to add client playable JTAC/FAC. Probably wouldn't use it much personally but know plenty of people that would. http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad

coolts Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Weird vegetation tile pop-up when camera moves. Nice high alt cirrus clouds though. Oh, and the a-10 pit is amazing! That targetting pod. Pilotasso Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Thats for the HOTAS. :D The SIM date...is a mistery. .
diveplane Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 lod issues with the grass i seen in the clip , still to be optimised i guess. instead of poping up they could fade the grass in from distance. https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.
sobek Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Thats for the HOTAS. :D The SIM date...is a mistery. If one is to believe Wags, then a 2010 release is desired, according to the SimHQ interview. 1 Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Eddie Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Now, I don't know if anyone else has noticed it, but in the two cockpit shots on the SimHQ preview article the EW panel has "ACTIVE" displayed on the MWS display. Could this mean that the missile warner system that is currently being fitted to the A-10C is implemented? I really do hope so. Also the ECM display on the same panel shows "SBY SAM1" in one image and "SBY AIR" in the other, again hopefully that means that the ECM is modelled somewhat better than the simple on/off functionality that has been in sims up to now. Again, here's hoping. I'm sure we'll find out eventually.

july865 Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Audio only. The reporter was probably watching the sealing while Waggs was explaining all the geeky hardcore sim stuff. . reporter, yeah maybe, but she is a very good stick. panther (aka reporter) also runs the multiviper site. she can definitely out fly a lot of guys....lol Asus x99, i7 5930k, 32g mem, MSI 1070GTX, 970 Samsung M.2, LG 35in Ultra-Wide, TrackIR 4 Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Flim Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 I had a chance to fly DCS for a second and all I can say is it is very realistic!!! Since DCS is so much better then anything out there, it makes it hard to compare it to anything. DCS combined with the TM Warthog, you have a perfect mate!
Chillspider Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 (edited) They should call FC2 , DCS:FC2 or just DCS:Flaming Cliffs. I know its not on the same level of Immersion but it does use the DCS environment and everything else. So I don't see why not . cctoide Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 A couple of nice screenshots (well, photos of screens) with this article, which was linked to in another topic here by the author: http://www.gamingshogun.com/Article/7014/Thrustmaster_HOTAS_Warthog_E3_Preview_Event.html I think the last screenshot shows a lot of improvement when it comes to the ground environment in DCS. obotNapalm Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 DCS: A-10C manual - colour??? Didn't really want to start a new thread with this. Searching didn't turn up anything either. Does anyone know if ED have announced whether they will release the A-10C manual in full colour? Or at least both B&W and colour versions? The Ka-50 manual had some great colour illustrations/images, and it was a crying shame they didn't release a colour version. I'm sure there are people who would be willing to pay even up to twice the price of the B&W version to get a colour A-10C manual.
nemises Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 (edited) hasn't been mentioned yet , wouldn't expect it to be discussed till closer to release. The decission to produce a printed manual only came very late in the KA50 cycle (infact post release) as an after market addon type affair, and even then it was just an experiement driven by Jim and Wags to see if it could be a value add (ie...if they sold enough to justify the cost of production) ... who knows what the financials were on the KA50 manual, but that could effect whether or not the A10c manual would be available printed at all, and then if color or not. (PS, hey Obot! ... nem from HO here!) Edited June 20, 2010 by nemises
marlondcs Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I hope you guys bring ZSU-23-4 Shilka's, SA-15 Gauntlet's to the DCS univers makining it the best online experience ever. Where you and your friends can fight other friends from the air or ground. A true WAR simulation arena. DCS choose your hardware, Black Shark, Flaming Cliffs2, A10c Warthog, "ZSU-23-4 Shilka" one big online war arena BRING IT ON. Cause we are simmers but there are many tank simmers (me included) that where forgotten from way baaack when M1 Abrams from Microprose came out. Bring out atleast a ZSU-23-4 Shilka add on. I allready own the Black Shark and Flaming Cliffs 2, waiting for the A10c to come out. Imagine shooting down a enemy plane in your mobile sam and trying to fend off some guy in his Black Shark while franticly puffing a smoke Screen and calling your friend in his A10c some 30 miles away, telling him "GET OVER HERE QUICKLY, PANZERTARD IS TRYING TO GET A LOCK ON ME!!!" A true ZERO (lesser) bot online war arena. Just my 2 cents. BTW When is A10c Warthog due??? hasn't been mentioned yet , wouldn't expect it to be discussed till closer to release. Here's hoping they made enough money off the Ka-50 manual for a colour A-10C manual then.
