snow is even worse

Yup I encountered campaign missions that were set in Winter, and snow reduces my framerate to sub-20. Not exactly pleasant in VR...

I experienced that the rain and snow performance is hugely related to quality settings of the clouds. I know, that only ULTRA clouds can give perfect results without any aliasing, but with rain in VR it can result a slideshow even on a 3090. That's why I'm strictly using STANDARD clouds, with DLAA they are really nice with very subtle aliasing here and there.

Terrain scenery performance: optimized instancing and improved and optimized streaming.

Late to the party but most definitely improved smoothness in VR since DCS 2.9.3.

Neither do I. But when I exit the F10 map everything is so overexposed it hurts my eyes. It takes a while for it to settle back to normal. I'd like to see that fixed 🤷‍♀️

I find hitting F2 or F3 after F10 removes the overexposure.....

Current version number: 2.9.3.51704

Next planned update: 10th April 2024 ( subject to change )

Dear all,

During recent checks QA found regression in spotting dots system and DCS:F-16C INS issues. We are working on fixes now and will need time to test everything again after fixes deployed.

Apologies for the delay and thank you for your patience

You got WHAT?! :surprise:

😄 The forums sometimes have an older notification hung for a topic. It most probably happens because of strict cookie blocking policy I use in Firefox, both mobile and on desktop. uBlock Origin has some prey along the way probably as well.

No surprise once more 😉

"During recent checks QA" - Surely this should have been done before announcing the patch date of 3rd April?

"In our ongoing commitment to provide a seamless and unified experience to all, we will be moving away from the traditional Stable and Open Beta builds. Starting with the upcoming release, DCS will transition to a single, unified version. This move aims to streamline the update process, reduce fragmentation, and ensure that all pilots have access to the latest features and improvements simultaneously. This unified approach will not only simplify the user experience but also allow for more efficient development cycles, fostering a more cohesive and connected community. Your feedback has been invaluable in shaping this decision, and we are excited to embark on this new journey together."

but the issue is always behind the corner unfortunately....but the wait will definitely be worth it🤩

clearly the testing works and QA have done their best to find issues that would create problems in the new patch.

The single DCS version is good for the community. Even  if this was an open beta patch it would have been delayed.

thanks
