we like to revisit our older modules, but we are not a huge company and resources are limited. When we have time we always look to update what we can, as you can see with the FC3 update, and others like the A-10C and BS3. I hope we can share more updates with you all in the future.

thanks

Not enough disk space in _downloads for the update.  Guess I have to start from scratch.

if you can make room on the drive do so, and then hit update again, it will continue from where it left off

👍 Is just me or does it feel like there's some improved performance in VR, or is it just my placebo?  VR works better after this patch (Quest P., better timeings).

I feel the same.

In one of my self made missions (AH-64D in Syria) I got ~53 FPS before, but now see ~60 FPS.

Btw. I see that after the update DCS MT has DLSS 3.5.0.0 version, but the last is 3.5.1.0, take it here: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/ (personally Im using MSAA x2).

I have a nice +10-20% performance improvement accross all maps (Syria, Caucasus and Gulf) on VR, so very nice...

I had the same impression after I fired up DCS today: I seem to have gained 5fps. More testing is needed however before I draw any conclusions.

I switched mine to 3.5.1 a few days ago. Seemed to improve the ghosting a bit, didn’t notice much in the performance range. Surprised it didn’t get changed, took about 3 minutes total to swap out🤷‍♂️… I still stick with MSAA though, just wanted to test the DLSS ver.

I had two missions (F-15E "Enemy bomber raid" is one) that was allways jerky. Upon testing both "troubled" missons now, one was completely fluid, and the other was very much there, and absolutely acceptable. No doubt there is a VR perfomance increase. (Alas I believe it came with a tiny cost of reduced clouds quality, but if so, I totally agree with that decsicion)

Regarding todays Patch:  I am also seeing a 6 to 8 FPS increase! I assume it is directly related to the first update in the Changelog.

@BIGNEWY would it be possible to provide more information or some context as to how or what was technically done? Glorious update.

great to hear you are seeing improvement.

I don't have detail to share here, would need to ask. Its all magic to me as a non coder.

It could be the reason for VR - improved terrain streaming. For example, over Ghaza I had 65-72FPS (72Hz, Quest) in Apache at the height of buildings and trees, and now a stable, solid 72FPS and better rendering times. I can even fly over the Mariana Islands. Nice.

The increase in VR performance is amazing. I did a few of my test flights to see the difference. Last night I could run the 109 airfield defence on N2 at 45-72 FPS. I repeated it tonight at the same settings and got 60-90 FPS. Free flight over Cairo in the 109 I used to get around 35-45 FPS. Tonight I got 50-70!

I also noticed that eye tracking is a lot better for some reason. I think this must be due to landscape rendering (as YoYo says). Previously I had noticed a slight lag in rendering when eye tracking. This is now a lot better.

I need to try Marinas next.
