There are multiple messages from HB with different variations of dates; "aiming for an April release", "in April", "in May", "early Spring".  Since "early Spring" has come and gone, I think that we can scratch that from the list, so either sometime in April (again that can be scratched after Tuesday next week).

Which if the "worst-case scenario" can be believed means release in under 5 weeks.  Of course, anything could happen between now and then so unless HB plan to provide another development update and/or delay announcement, it really is just a case of sit and wait.

Yeah, thats what they stated. Players are making out like them not delivering in April, when they said it could be May as some kind of misleading communication, then making up a June date. It's ridiculous drama over nothing.

They’re doing marketing, drum up a bit of interest before release, maybe even find a few more bugs the devs can squash before release. It’s not like they’re getting it 6 months early.

HB trailers are the best marketing they can do. They are always stellar. I don't think many valued viewers will buy something that doesn't win at air quake either.

No one knows when it's coming. It could be coming shortly, or it could be coming at the end of the year, or even next year. We've had 4-5 different release window estimates in the past.

It's basically it. Customers are the necessary evil for companies. When regular users actually get the module, people will be struggling, complaining and finding bugs (or think they are finding bugs, but in fact they are just simple user errors). Dealing with that takes time, effort but doesn't generate any extra money. Content creators require some managing and help but they are actually generating much more money than individual users, so it makes sense why companies prioritize them instead of sending it out for regular users.

….which Flower Show?…..are you referring to the Chelsea Flower Show? Thats 21st to 25th of May. So is HB releasing on the 21st or 25th??? I hate flowers……

If I understood Heatblur correctly, they were clearly of a different opinion.

They didn't feel comfortable with a bug, that would break the Phantom for 5-10% of the customers... and I agree here. Some 10 YouTubers getting a marketing release for free and one of them not able to start the thing, is negligible, but going into recess and fixing the root cause from scratch, with the prospect one out of ten paying customers getting hit, is a very sound judgement call.

Thanks to Heatblur for taking the time to fix this and be willing to take the brunt of the inevitable sh.t storm.

I always thought content creators get the module for free, to actually generate more customers?

Customers would then be the ones actually paying(!) through purchasing the product?

Whole industries seem to do it completely wrong! They sell stuff to customers, instead of only giving it away to content creators and influencers for free, to get rich without the need to sell anything.

Content creators are probably the nr 1 dcs sales people. I don't think anything funnelles as many new players to DCS  as the big DCS youtubers. 

It's it's of course up to ED or 3rd party developers if they feel that kinda attention works well for their new module. Some like to make hype others don't.
