Of course, it's a pity that CH-47D didn't come out on time as announced, it's already a postponement one time, let's remember, but I'm more worried about the fact that today's patch turns out to have been postponed as well. Everything is being moved lately, let's notice... 😞

What a way to treath customers...another delay. Gues the money are more important. "Give me your money incase you are not able to when its released".

If they are not 100% sure one the relasedate, then they should not public one.

Aircraft modules are difficult to make, so it is understandable that they are delayed occasionally, but it is really unacceptable that routine updates are delayed.

Look at it from the positive side: if you enjoyed the pre-purchase, you can enjoy that feeling a bit longer! Yay!

(If you did not enjoy the pre-purchase, why the heck did you do it?)

You are joking, right? We live in a world where any release of anything can be delayed for any reason (well, maybe beside taxes). The release (birth) of my godson, for example, was delayed by two weeks (yeah, I know, "two weeks"). In Software Development, hitting the correct year is usually a cause to celebrate. That's not something to be proud of, agreed, just a comment of the sorry state that most software dev teams live in. Now, admittedly, the kind folk at ED have a somewhat spotty release track record, mixed with an IMHO quite awkward communication style and some questionable decisions. For example, pushing out a regularly re-occurring update/release by a single day is often considered to be the mark of a beginner: there is nothing significant that can be accomplished in 24h hours; Pros go live with a couple of 'known issue' tags in the relNotes and start working on the next release cycle, or they push the release by a more meaningful timeframe (a week at least).

Delays happen. I estimate when I'll pick up my significant other, and when something comes up, there will be a delay. Until something actually happens, nobody can say with 100% certainty when it will happen. In this instance I believe that we merely have an unfortunate situation, somewhat exacerbated by an unfortunate decision plus unusual communication style. We know that the Hook will come, and it is in ED's best interest to release as soon as possible. There is no reasonable argument to be made that ED intentionally delay the release just to spite customers. That would be silly. Pushing a regularly scheduled update by a single day (not for the first time) shows some room for improvement when it comes to their project management skills. We'll survive both. And I'll still buy the Hook.

We got to admit it’s starts to look like comedy the whole thing. You can see the panic when they had to delay the delayed.
I was pretty hyped by Chinook myself. Good thing is updated Kola map and hopefully more populated. Halfghanistan I have not bought. I wait until a campaign I am interested in before I go there

Dang it, now I have to fly my existing aircraft on an existing map today rather than crashing flying new aircraft on a new map.

Oh, the suffering!  Of course we suffer!  But in silence!  Always in silence do we suffer!  We never complain about our suffering!

Off to blow stuff up.  Hope you guys have a great day!  🙂

May I ask why the thwoppa is delayed?

This feels a lot like ED is using FOMO to their advantage....

It's coming out this date!! Don't miss out on the special price!!

Oh wait we had to delay it a week, guess what guys you have one more week of this special price!!!!

And yet again... "We have to delay this indefinitely"...but you can still preorder it at a cheaper price!!!

Combine that with the fact that I found out through reddit and couldn't even confirm through official sources on the website without scrolling through a bunch of threads.... This pattern is starting to wear me thin on buying DCS products....

99 little bugs in the code, 99 little bugs in the code. Take one down, patch it around 117 little bugs in the code.

It needs at least another few months. Come to your senses and release it in a respectable state, that's a bare minimum a customer should be allowed to ask for.

Us playing around with it, doesn't keep them from continuing developement. I'd rather try what is there now and see it ripe with every patch. Thanks.

Some folks don't like EA. Which is fine. Just don't engage in it then.

It's not like you have to buy anything if you are not ready to deal with delays, missing features, bugs, etc. Patience is a virtue for a reason.

It does however extend it to years at an end. I don't fancy waiting for functioning NVGs for two years while they push Chinook aside to focus on other modules to not go under as a company. We can and should have basic features like NVGs (A filter on a screen...) available to us on day one as well as a few others. No one forced them or pressured them into announcing its release so early. Own up to a mistake and put it back in an oven. Or do you prefer your pastries still underbaked and pale?

Bear in mind we had to wait for MI8 multicrew for 10 years. Don't pretend like anything on that list is in any way a guaranteed to be made in any reasonable future timeframe. It is in any customer's interest to demand that the product be delayed and shipped on day one with as many features as possible, not the absolute minimum.

What does the phrase "subject to change" mean for you, as a customer?

That hopefully means a guy with a portable R9X-launcher can be placed in the cargo room of this helicopter, standing behind the open cargo doors. For very special Bazooka operations. 😉

I have a good feeling the delay happened because the R9X is now getting implemented with the Chinook release, available for the Apache too.

Poor analogy. I don't plan on eating the Chinook.

There is a general difference in our judgement. You think, that ED isn't incentivised to continue developement on full power after initial EA release, and I think that is nonsense.

Why is it OK for people like you (and me, just not for this bird) to whine about some bug not being fixed, but it is not OK for people to whine about really, really poor feature set of this release?

And yeah, people that pre-order this will whine, big time.

And what do you think would give us, as customers, more complete aircraft sooner? Current ED business model or us holding our funds until a module is completed?

Speaking of development: 3 years old Apache is still flying 2.5x crab angle than it is supposed to. I see ED is working on it, full steam.

That made me chuckle, cheers mate. We certainly don't have any modules in DCS that are still incomplete years after initial release. Simply doesn't happen. Nonsense,as you say.

We don't need to think, here is an example:

ED stated numerous times that their resources are limited.
