I risked it and got the map before any review. I made a recording of my first flight in the map. Looks amazing, tbh...
I'm impressed by it, enhanced by the fact I've actively avoided getting this map from its well documented issues.

Felt fantastic, no hiccups (the pauses are mostly for screenshots, too many to remove in editing and some were missed), no visual issues. Highly immersive from what I've felt. Flight path: Rio Grande -> Parque Nacional Alberto Agostini -> Rio Gallegos.

I just took a quick spin in the Huey from Port Stanley. The performance is so much better since the last update, even on my rig, awesome. I've had the map from the release and it's improved so much recently. I visit it often for just cruising along in helos or jets. South Atlantic looks so much different from the other maps, I would very much recommend it now. Two thumbs up!

I've been tempted by this map in the past but was put off by the lack of free trial. Now it's revamped and half price in the sale and I'm tempted again, but put off now by the current Razbam situation. I see some mentions here and on Discord of this being a different team that's not affected by the current dispute. Is this an officially stated position by Razbam or ED, or just optimistic forum chatter? (No disrespect intended to anyone who has stated this.)

I had to add to this thread.  Thorughly impressed with the SA map.  It blew me away so much today when flying it, I had to make a side by side of my experiences flying over.  Watch till the end.  I was blown away coming around the mountain low level and running into the Iceberg.  The beauty in the northern part of the map is fantastic.  There is no better way to experience this map than in VR.  Desktop does not give it justice!

@Raz_SpecterSouth Atlantic feels like a new map. It really is much nicer today. The Towns feel more alive too. The lighting and other improvements really did the trick. I need to fly a few more locations to see if the annoying pop-in of ground rocks has greatly improved as well.

I am sure Kola will be nicer too since some of the same updates were repeated there. Thanks for the map.. Glad I have it.

I asked the same question on Reddit and got a reply from the guy who made this map. He assured that he will not "abandon"  this map.

I can't verify if it's true or not, but it was good enough for me.

35$ isn't a lot of money so I bought it.

Hope they redo the Wallpaper screen for it, with the new lighting and other changes. The current one pales in comparison to other maps wallpapers, especially @1440 across 3 screens.

Bought this map on Day One and have been happy with it ever since. Love the look and feel of it. And really like the updates.

Top Three map for me.

Some of the planes, but all of the maps!

I got it when it came out too but only had a quick flight.

I’ve been messing about on other maps and haven’t really had any time on it.

Some of these shots look cracking, I should have a better look.

cheers.

Just had my first few flights on this map and OMG I love, love, love it! I fly helicopters and WW2 so it's going to take me a long time to explore it all.

And the performance is the best of any map I have tried. I just flew VR for about two hours over Falklands and around Puerto Natales and not a single stutter or dropped frame. I never knew DCS could be so smooth.

It's a great map. Very unlike the Middle East maps. Glaciers and mountains and fjords. Great fun to fly in. Has a really good feel to it.

I forgot to check it 😄. Been busy messing about under peoples wings on the Caucuses. I’ll treat myself and check it out.

The only problem I have with the nicely updated South Atlantic map is finding more free time to explore it.   👍
