High mouse polling rate impacting framerate

Anyone know if this is going to be fixed in an upcoming update? I just tried to increase my mouse polling back to where it was and the stuttering still persists. It would be nice to see ED acknowledge that a fix is incoming.

Any word from ED would be positive... specially from this damm bug appears since more than 2 months!!! COME ON... and this is not "openbeta".

"I am experiencing horrible mouse lag when looking around. This only happens in the cockpit. And only with the mouse, if I look around using the numpad keys its perfectly smooth. This isn't an issue with game performance, the game runs fine. It's just the mouse lag that makes it seem like a slideshow. I'm on the latest open beta running on Steam."

A bit longer than a few months. I am just glad I googled it otherwise I still would not be playing DCS world because of this game breaking polling rate bug.

In fairness, while this might have been a problem in 2015, I'd pretty sure it was fixed and only became a problem again recently.

For me is not fixed, but is random. When i see the FPS issue moving the mouse, just a restart fix the problem, i dont know what is the culprit

No, the fix is definitely in. What is the model of your mouse, gents?

Logitech G502. Stutters happens where mouse is moving in main menu screen, specially in VR. Like previous latest versions. In 2.9.5 for example, it is perfect, no fps hits with mouse movements (reverted in just to test if its my software). At least with my config (W10, 64GB RAM, 4090, SSD M2 2TB, 7800X3d) and I believe others too.

So its not fixed Flappie. Please return the state of this thread considering users feedback (there are other users reporting the non fix in performance forum).

Mine is a Qilive 3685, a cheap one but working good.

And the issue is random, sometimes is triggered, sometimes not. A restart fixes the issue

I have a G502 as well, also Win10. The stutters I had when moving the mouse in cockpit or outside views, and as well when moving the map around in the mission editor, have been fixed with yesterdays patch.
Though I didn´t have any problems in the main menu, so there might be another issue. Have you tried to reduce the polling rate ? When I set mine to 500 before the patch, that removed the stutters.

I have the same mouse and OS and the stutter is gone with the latest patch.

@Gryzor What you describe looks like the issue affecting Intel 13th and 14th gen, as well as X3D AMD GPUs. This issue is more ancient than the 1000 Hz polling rate mouse issue, which has just been solved.

What I think your issue is:

Please check your CPU load in the task manager and see if the issue is accompanied by one of your CPU cores being stuck at 100%.

I noticed this in the past, then it was fixed, but the most recent 30 sep patch brought it back with a vengeance...
I'm using a Logitech G Pro Superlight, both wired and wireless it does it *horribly* in the menu, especially in VR.

However, I also have a Logi M570 trackball, and that doesn't do it or at least its not noticeable (when in actual flight, I do see a minor burble, but it doesn't effect frames)

Intel 14700k. I've tried with and without the old MT.lua (btw, what is going on with that?), i've tried with and without E-cores on, with and without hyper threading. with and without HAGS.
I've tried disabling any and all overlays (Steam, Discord, RTSS). It does it both using Link and VirtualDesktop.

I recently just reinstalled DCS, and this is a fresh install of Win11 24H2. my 14700k is brand new as of like 2 weeks ago, as I RMA'd my previous one, and I have set the power limits to intel standard (253w/253w/307a) and stock clocks.

My questions are:
is the MT.lua supposed to be used still? it does not come with a fresh install of DCS... If I don't use MT.lua my core 0 [aka, first core] seems to becomes the main thread and gets the highest load. using MT.lua moves it from core 0 to a random other core, but it still stays pegged at 100% or nearly 100% and the issue remains...

also, why hasn't the in-game frame limiter slider been adjusted so we can use it with actual numbers instead of limited to 10's and 5s? I want to limit frame rate in game to 72 but cannot, editing the options config to 72 manually doesn't work, RTSS is a pain in the ass to deal with, and setting a limit in NV control panel is not ideal.

Back again for me too. Sometimes a restart of DCS fix it.

its like the wrong core usage at the beginning of MT. Some start up of DCS it was correct, some was a slideshow

I have a Finalmouse UltralightX, and basically any polling rate over 1000 appears to have issues (2000, 4000, 8000). 1000 and under seem ok though

Yea, still a thing for me, though - it doesn't do it when I use Oculus link, or rather, it doesn't do it enough to effect actual frame times, the green line does blip in link, but not above the 72hz frame limit.

HOWEVER in Virtual Desktop, its completely broken... I've defaulted to not using VirtualDesktop for now for other reasons (24h2 broke h264 for it, among other things), but I'm also kind of burned out on trying to troubleshoot DCS's minor problems...

This issue is super annoying and still invariably present for me in 2.9.11.4686 when running DCS with a mouse polling rate of 1000 Hz.

The fix shipped with DCS 2.9.8.1107 did have no effect at all on my system.
