I was taxing among other F4Us and i must say that they need to hire sound specialist because it is a mess right now, there is overwhelming constant sound of the engines it fades away with distance but there is almost no lost of sound level for fair amount of distance and then suddenly it fades away at certain distance. Another thing there is no change in sound in cockpit during power changes and rpm changes. If no one noticed it then i must have something wrong with my setup then.

I could not agree more.  I grew up in and around 6 of these beautiful girls.  Magnitude knocked everything out of the park except for the engine sounds.  They need some work for sure.  I hate to compare them to Black Bird simulations Corsair in MSFS, but they hit the mark a lot closer.  I hope Magnitude teams up with Echo 19 to get the sounds right on the old girl.  This should be priority.  They totally missed the mark on the whistling death.

Also from the cockpit view, when throttling the engine (from min to max), max pitch engine sound is reached at a half way through, from half way on the sound doesn't change at all. From min to max there is little difference in the engine sound as well. And I would dare to say it should be more more louder from inside of the cockpit.

Love this bird, but the sounds need a overhowl. One of the biggest radials ever produced should have much more bite. Echo19 please.

I'm an audio mastering engineer and saw the comments about the sound so I bought it to see if I could beef them up, unfortunately the sound files are encrypted.

too bad there's no way to temporarily use the P-47's sound for the Corsair....

It pains me to say MSFS pulled the sounds off better than M3LLC.  This was a video a shot over a year ago on MSFS with the Milviz (Blackbird Simulations) Corsair.  I really hope Magnitude teams up with Echo 19. They totally missed the mark and did not even come close to the whistling noise she made in a dive, hence Whistling Death.

Agree with everyone, the sound of the plane need a complete overhaul.

What a shame....

We have a supremely talented community.  Hopefully someone can fix this.  Echo19 would do a great job for sure, but not for free (nor should it be).

Pretty bummed to see the early adopters disappointed in one of the most iconic aspects of the Corsair.

Once I get home next week I'll see what I think firsthand.

One thing I did to at least help improve the sound was un-check the "Hear like in helmet" setting.

Looking forward to you being back in the cockpit again with the boys Kandy.  I can tell you from seizing the engine 3 times today, watch the temperature!

There's also zero sound que when dropping bombs. Not even a slight cluck sound as the bombs release. I hope simahaker aviators get an update ASAP, so I can get butt feel when bombs fall.

It pains me to see this thread. M3 had sent me messages a long time ago, years now, but unfortunately they went cold on us. Maybe we will get contacted again if enough "noise" is made, but not sure. Polychop saw the opportunity to work with us, and the community has loved our work and involvement on projects. So, why not...

It's up to Magnitude 3 at this point if they choose to re-engage in conversations with us. I hope they do, but we'll see.

Hoping they hit you guys up! They need your team to get this bird fully operational.  Absolutely missed the mark on the sounds.  Hope they take you up on your offer.

I can confirm this as well. Whilst I hope we will still see improvements on the soundset, this option did make a positive difference in the cockpit for me.

It accelerates quickly when it descends! I love the sound of the wind getting louder, that's what's missing from the module at the moment. You can hear a whistling sound but not that sound of the wind getting louder (a bit like the P-51 from DCS)

I'll add some video references here as to what the real Corsair sounds like.  For those who've never felt the visceral sound of the engine startup, high speed pass, low throaty fly-by, or the whistling death signature sound - well, words just can't describe the sensations one feels being in the presence of such an iconic warbird.

Some may feel the mag3 sounds are okay - or even good.  That's subjective and your opinion that of course you're entitled to.  My opinion, however, is mag3 missed the mark on the corsair massively.  Hearing Echo19 ( @I_Gamer ) chime in above suggesting mag3 ghosted them years ago was a real kick in the stomach - especially given the state these sounds are in at EA.

@-Rudel- - are you considering making a change to the sounds to bring the Corsair up to what many expect from the Corsair?  If this is/was a cash saving decision, I'd suggest there are enough of us that would invest in making the Corsair sound as authentic as possible and encourage you to explore funding options that push the sound environment to the best quality possible within DCS.  Even if you have no desire to leverage Echo19, please take a listen to the videos below and honestly evaluate how your rendition sounds against the real thing.  The Corsair still flies (although fewer and fewer these days) - get yourself to an airshow and take in firsthand how its supposed to sound.

Everyone using different speakers or headphones could be a factor for everyone. My headphones have haptics and rumble like hell when someone takes off. I can hear the cam lope at idle. For me, the biggest issue is the lack of wind noise in the cockpit. That's for all the warbirds, though.

I would love for you to explain how changing my speakers, setting, or headphones will make the Magnitude Corsair module sound like this.
