need track replay Are HARMs broke in the F-16?

I'll go out for SEAD, shoot 2 of my 4 HARMs then the HARMs either stop targeting or won't launch. Even after rearming, the HARMs won't show radar emitting targets. This might be happening after I select a search for a particular radar.

Hi, it might be anything, maybe radar turned off?

Give a track. Which mode? With HTS or not?

[Lace]

Viper is only wired for two HARMS.  If you are carrying them on the fuel (inboard) pylons they will not fire.  That configuration is for transport only IIRC.

If they’re broke, consider paying them more. No wonder they refuse to work

Not the case in DCS and HARMs mounted on sta4&6 will fire and work normally

I always manage to fire all 4.

I'm only carrying 2 here but there is no problem with locking and firing...

For the moment they don't seem capable  of tracking SA2's. 

 

All other radars they track fine, but I haven't been able to hit an SA2 with a HARM in months (Using either HTS or Setting a markpoint and using POS). The harm tracks to within a few miles of the radar then goes stupid, loses track, and misses by a couple hundred feet. I'm launching well within range, so I'm not sure what the deal is.

however; did the SAM in your mission have the "HARM evasion" action activated (mission editor setting) or are you running an IADS script (MANTIS, SKYNET)? that would shut the SAM down when it detects a HARM as a means of self defense, which would explain why your HARM goes stupid in the last phase of flight

I do not believe I had the "HARM evasion" option checked but that's cool as hell if that's a thing. Regardless I'll check.

Not running any IADs scripts. 

I do not believe the SA2 is going offline at any point. I'm getting the rwr radar track notification for the duration of the missile travel time and post impact. I am experiencing this issue across multiple maps/missions/campaigns. 

FWIW I am successfully hitting SA6's in POS mode.

Please include a track replay example so it can be checked if possible. 

We do have some issues reported and fixed internally but we can not be sure they are the same issue without a track replay.

For what it's worth -- 4x HARMs is a valid tactical loadout on the F-16 in US service. There was a brief period where they weren't set up for that kind of employment, but it was realized that was extremely limiting for some of our AORs, and everything has been set up to carry and employ 4x HARM now.

Also: Remember that some missile systems (SA-10, -15, NASMS, etc) can shoot down HARMs. Tacveiw can be pretty enlightening here.

Yep, it’s not that easy and simple sometimes. But like some guys already said. Trackfile is the key
