ApoNOOB Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 serial# 19571 location: germany Thise one is actually going back. Slew is broken, when I slew along the Y or X axis, the other one is moving too. Could not fix it via deadzones and in the Device Analyzer you could see it very clearly in numbers. :/ Hope this will go over quick, I CAN'T FLY WITH THE OLD JOYSTICK NOW! Damn! :D I read about this once or twice but nobody I heard from has it as bad as mine.
bob charles Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 (edited) #19490 Location = Ocala, Florida, USA I still have my old Thrustmaster F-16 joystick. And my less old HOTAS Cougar with Cub Pilot's Hall Effect Sensors and Ian's Uber NXT gimbal mod. Something screwed up inside the Cougar housing so I wasn't able to get the Uber NXT to stay in place. It wasn't the fault of Ian's great Uber NXT mod. But I did find it very difficult to replace those high-tensioned springs... oh, my poor fingers! I have nothing but high regards for both Cub Pilot and Ian. It's enthusiasts like these guys that showed Thrustmaster the way and the light to R&D and QC! I just hope, for the sake of my mental stability and my wallet, that the Warthog is built better than the Cougar so maintenance and upgrading won't be such an issue. I guess only time will tell. For the past several years I've been making due with Saitek's X-52 Pro. And as much as I prefer Thrustmaster's hardware over Saitek's, their software is still mind-boggling to me. I'm still searching for a picture or a map that tells me the name of every button and axis on the Warthog so I can edit other people's Su-25T and Black Shark lua files. I'd rather edit a lua file than try to figure out the TARGET GUI. Is there a college or university anywhere in the world that specializes in Thrustmaster software programming? :) Thanks so very much to Tiogar and the others here who have helped me enjoy DCS World and now my latest toy, the HOTAS Warthog. Bob. ETA - I used the Windows 7 USB Gaming Controller option to find the button numbers for the HOTAS Warthog. Why didn't Thrustmaster include a chart or a picture of the Warthog, both joystick & throttle, with the button numbers on it? Unless I'm missing something, there should be such a chart or picture in the PDF owner's manual or at their website. Or in the TARGET GUI. WTF! Ah, the good ol' days when games, simulators and computer hardware came with comprehensive hard copy owner manuals. And Quick Glance charts. The tiny booklet that comes in the Warthog box and is printed in 8 or 9 different languages, that can only be viewed via a magnifying glass, is not what I consider an owner's manual. Now, if they're available, they cost an extra $75 to a third party publisher! ApoNOOB Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 serial# 19571 location: germany ^ Went back because of Slew Control problems. New one: 19195 is going back because of slew control AND grease on the stick. (The first Joystick moved so well I nearly cried when I used it for the first time, in comparision this one is an insult!)
