Nu-NRG Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 i'd rather see the Eagle or the Tomcat as the next in depth sim. Tomcat is not a fixed wing. And may they RIP JFK 2001 Aviate - Navigate - Communicate
MoGas Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Tomcat is not a fixed wing. What is it then  ?

MoGas Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) Fixed Wing it dosent matter...variable or not "It also applies to "variable geometry" aircraft, such as the General Dynamics F-111, the Grumman F-14 Tomcat, and the Panavia Tornado, all of which can vary the sweep angle of their wings during flight. There are also rare examples of aircraft which can vary the angle of incidence of their wings in flight, such the F-8 Crusader, which are also considered to be "fixed-wing." ChrisIhao Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 I for one would like to see the Harrier to be honest. Never really played any Harrier sims through the years. It would be interesting to see how it feels to land vertically with friggin great flight model. Its weird how similar the Harrier is to the Su-25 if you look at it in profile though, almost like you have stretched out a Su-25 a bit. ;) If not F-15E or F/A-18E would be great as well. GGTharos Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Ok, we won't tell you that it is the Tornado :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
dotChuckles Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 If it is the Tornado... then I believe I owe ED my first born, and the Devil my soul. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Pilotasso Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 $50 says its the F-15C. Hope your not a betting man because you should stop right now. :) .
mvsgas Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) :smartass:Wags has a F-8F in his avatar, it has to be it!! :D:P By the way the wing fold so must be a folding wing! Not a fix wing :D Edited August 8, 2011 by mvsgas To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
Mugenjin Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Wings are fixed on this one, are they not? So it must be a fixed wing :D
VFA41_Lion Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Hope your not a betting man because you should stop right now. :) What makes you say that? :o
Pilotasso Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Because if you followed the last few years of this discussion you would know by now the F-15 has gone low priority as did the Apache, Mi-24 etc. F-16 and F-18 are, according to what has been told to the community, the planes that have got the most research material available. Therefore it is my best guess that it will be one of these planes. Only if something has radically changed in the mean time that ED hasn't told us, would they choose another plane for next DCS. .
VFA41_Lion Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 I thought it'd be the F-15C cause it's the other aircraft that has as much modeling detail as the A-10C and it also happens to be a popular US fixed-wing fighter and it was the other half of the USA planes included in Lock On. So thats my thoughts. :p
EtherealN Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 3D model is about 0.5% of the work required to make a DCS module. Don't fool yourself through staring at external models, it's completely unrelated. Similarly, which planes are in Lock On is also of no relevance. (And as an aside, it wasn't the "other half", because A-10C was not in FC, A-10A was. HUUUGE difference.)
