So you have a mental image of E.D. riding a river of cash flowing from the huge world-wide flight-simulator sales bubble that's going on at the moment do you ? :)

Perhaps you think perhaps Microsoft got out of flight sims because they'd just made so much money from them that they didn't need to make any more ?

Or perhaps the development costs of realistic military flight simulators just mean there are easier ways to turn a profit in the gaming world, so that's where Microsoft have gone, and the prices E.D. charge reflect the cost of development & the expected sales volumes that are associated with this type of product.

Some of the prices ED gives for their product is simply unfair, I don't care how much the fanboys drone on and on about workload and complexity. 50 dollars is way too much for a single plane that doesn't even fit into the existing world.....

And to think that I have to pay $70 for COD: Black Ops II.......:music_whistling: :megalol:

Where do you get the $50 figure from?

I wish that most devs gave you $50 worth when you bought their software (let alone $40, which is how much ED charges). DCS is an unbelievable bargain.

Can't say that the Su-25 is my thing though. I wouldn't even have time to fly it after getting neck deep in all the fighters coming out, and the Mustang, and possibly the Ka-50 which I've recently considered buying since I haven't done much which choppers before.

Awaiting: DCS F-15C

Lol, and this is why I have said many times that E.D. needs to go the ARMA route to survive. I know you guys want to concentrate on aircraft, and you have a few 3rd parties lined up to help you. It looks like your going to have about 10 new planes are so in the next few years. Now, in order to get the FPS guys ( the majority of computer gamers and the majority in inflowing money ) in with you, you or some third parties should put in some infantry, vehicle, and increased scenery modules to boot. That will be sure to really boost your sales and make everyone happy, especially since it looks like Bohemia is trying to increase its flight sim realism and compete with you.

Some people say the graphics aren't good enough for FPS, but one of the BEST FPS sims EVER was the UT1 ( yes, ONE!) mod Infiltration. Twelve years later or so, its still one of the best. While graphics are great, they aren't everything. Immersion is.

And I know you say that will also increase the load on computers, but modern day computers are pretty powerful and gamers tend to spend a lot on them, making them virtual Ferrari's. GPU's are especially powerful now, and you need to code to push more load on to those GPU's, since they seem to be the new upcoming number crunching powerhouses, leaving the CPU's just guiding traffic.

I'd buy any DCS fidelity product on par with A-10. Su-25 Frogfoot is my lucky number Slevin!!!

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Not until they make DCS: PA-28.

The Su-25A is one of the few planes in the sim to have actually seen serious combat...

By the end of the war, nearly 50 Su-25s were deployed at Afghan airbases, carrying out a total of 60,000 sorties. Between the first deployment in 1981 and the end of the war in 1989, 21 aircraft were lost in combat operations.

That's one loss per 2800 sorties, and that's with the Taliban equiped with stingers in the later part of the conflict.

Cheers.

If ed decides not to make a seperate dcs-su25t module can we at least expect a better modeled cockpit?

Would buy Su-25T with clickable Cockpit and quality like DCS:A-10 instantly if released. It only has to be built...

I'd buy DCS A-25T, in which you get an aircraft with the weapons load-out, SEAD, acceleration and climb capabilities of the Su-25T but with the A-10's cannon, avionics and low-speed lift. That would be an awesome game. It might have no basis whatsoever in reality but so what.

Basically, I'll just buy any goddamn thing ED puts out the door. :)

From ED, yes, and may the next goddamn thing be Su27.

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

Na, no Russian hardware for me, except a Flanker or a Hind. Better both!

It isn't. The 'next goddamn thing' is a western fast-mover, insofar as we know.

I'd probably get it. Since A-10C was my first venture into modern sims I was somethat turned off by the lack of fidelity (no clickable cockpit, no inherent 6 DOF, simplified radio, etc...).

But, I'd rather see some other types released first - e.g. carrier ops and F-18.

No, modgamdit, I want a Su27. You know, the plane that catapulted ED from out of no where and set the path to dominate the simmulanian world.

Yes, and now ED has created a huge simulation platform, and they have a plan for moving forward ... maybe at some point a Su-27 will happen, but when - who knows?
