Kaiza Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 (edited) Nice guide. One little trick for what its worth, is that if you wish to send a message to an entire group enter 00 as the aircraft ID and then the group number. All group members will now get the message. Personally when I send targets to other players I just create my SPI, hook the player and press send, but I can see the value in making a markpoint if you have time for that or are concerned you may lose your target. jazjar Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Great job Viper, however I just looked at the manual and it says you have to press the send OSB a second time with the target set as SPI. Does your guide (If I am not looking closely enough) take care of this or is the manual wrong? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
CADelta Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Absolutely fantastic guide Viper. Crashdown Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Nice guide. Me and a couple of online buddies have experimented with the SADL, but only managed the Group/OwnID and sending text messages. I'll have to share this guide with them.
TwoLate Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Have not tested it all. Is all of this functional as a client? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Qazme Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Thanks Vyper we have a great group of guys who fly pretty regular. We will be sure to work this in somewhere. Well...we know sims are niche - we know jet sims have their own niche in the niche - we know hifi jet sims with this level of detail are a niche product in the niche in the niche genre......so, by my math, that leaves about -4 people in the world who will be able to do this effectively, online, while you are playing. But thanks for the guide, you may raise that number into positive territory! My word of the day is niche. In case that didn't come across somehow... Your math is horrible, if it leaves -4 people that match but you are added it would not be the positive category. IT would still be -3!! lol We know what you mean though. Not to mention I know of at least 5 guys who will be hopefully using some of these tactics pretty soon to break up the wingman in and out calls.
Laud Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Not to mention I know of at least 5 guys who will be hopefully using some of these tactics pretty soon to break up the wingman in and out calls. Be sure that at least every serious virtual squadron is using these features. Most of them even before Viper made his tutorial. It's also the guys that read the manual! ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Asus ROG STRIX Z390-F Gaming, Intel Core i7 9700k , 32gb Corsair DDR4-3200 Asus RTX 2070 super, Samsung 970 EVO Plus M2, Win10 64bit, Acer XZ321QU (WQHD) TM HOTAS Warthog, SAITEK Rudder Pedals, TIR 5

Laud Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 It would also be nice to have a list of SADL-capable units. Could someone from the "inner circle" provide something like that? Jona33 Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 If I aid one fellow Virtual Aviator by this guide then I consider it Time Well Spent**[/size][/i] Time damn well spent then viper. Very useful. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
-Ice Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Is this working in 1.1.1.0? I tried with a buddy but he can't seem to look at the same target, was eventually quicker just broadcasting SPI. Also, is there a way for him/me to get rid of all the "older" triangles? Thanks for the guide! - Ice

ENO Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Been wondering about these tasking orders- I've received them before but not been able to figure out the value in these independent taskings versus just a general SPI broadcast. I know this is a bit of an older guide and I saw the question about whether this was for 1.0.0.9 or something to that effect. We're in 1.2 now (well... we're in 1.1.1.1 on our server)... any functionality to the callsign feature? "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. BlueRidgeDx Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Callsign works; its limited to 4 characters. So try HOG1, RKT4, that kind of thing. "They've got us surrounded again - those poor bastards!" - Lt. Col. Creighton Abrams
ENO Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 I'm just wondering- even in message sending it looks like it's restricted to group / own ID. Is there any benefit to it- or is it just that added benefit in the event you don't know who 02-03 is? "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret.
