Why did you post a link and then quote almost the entire post that you linked (pictures and all)?

1st link because of the poll result

and the others: because most people watch this thread instead of the wish list thread :)

Here is a better link. Pics too!

Looks like a suitable map for carrier-ops.

No, it is too small.... with a combat radius for the F/A-18C (Wiki): 400 nmi (460 mi (740 km)) on air-air mission. If you start on a carrier in the gulf, it is only few flight minutes to the border of the map.

But I bet, it will work better than for example the Nevada map! :o)

The map at 390x390km is big enough for carrier ops.

Gawd... look at all those buildings

Look at the lighting on all of those buildings.

This will be the first time I have said "I can't wait!!"

Looks promising. I might actually have to get my wallet out (by might, I mean why can't I buy it already).

Looking forward to throwing Georgia I the bin in forever, and not having to go back.

I don't know if I would never fly the current map again, but it certainly will be a while! :)

We all welcome the new maps (NTTR & STRAITS OF HORMUZ) and i will be happy to fly over new areas (it is a lot of work to re-skin all ground units to desert camo :music_whistling: !).

I also agree you need first walk before run - so let us wait how it goes.

there will still probably be a large area that is flat and water like the black sea map, so it can work out for carrier ops.

We dont know how the edges of the map will work until these maps are fully integrated, my personal opinion is you would think there would be some extra space around these maps like Georgia, but again, we dont know.

No, NTTR is in progress of integration, Hormuz is still being built.

oops, yeah, sorry guys, read the press-release too fast,

Hormuz will be the first Combat Theatre (NTTR is a Training Map)

I haven't flown off the edge of Georgia in a while, might have to try it and see what happens.

(I think it's just repeated generic tiles/land, and no map in F10 View (blank screen with your Aircraft Icon on it))

Technically, Hormuz has a release date, and NTTR does not. Aren't we always told not to jump to conclusions? hehe
