Raven68 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 they have moved more towards Valve type announcements instead of sharing little tidbits with us here and there. This. Excuse my ignorance, but I am not familiar with that process either. If it's the same as the "monthly" news letters then ok I understand. :) Its news when there is news, usually in a format like the monthly bonus announcement from yesterday (announcement when it is ready). They will be less frequent, more press release like. I dont think the newsletters have changed at all. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

FlyNate Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 This. I apologize to you as well for my previous posts, but why not something like a biweekly official update post? Just asking out of curiosity... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
GGTharos Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Because there's no point in it. Dudester22 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) Its been said over and over that the Map was only a part of the timeline, that the Engine creation has been more of what has taken time. So we need to stop with the silly assumptions, this is why they are less inclined to share info, and why they have moved more towards Valve type announcements instead of sharing little tidbits with us here and there. Trust me... everything is moving, maybe not as fast as we all want... but they are moving. Once EDGE is in place, mapping should be quicker depending on the size and quality of course. I think the reason why people have made assumptions is because things haven't been made clear enough. If you are going to show pics and make it look like something imminent, then people are going to ask questions when they haven't heard anything for sometime. I think it would be best saying nothing at all if you are only going to divulge information in trickles. People are exited about the map and doing things this way just ends up frustrating some people to be honest. People like to know what's going on or they start to second guess and come up with "silly assumption" as you put it. Edited February 21, 2014 by Dudester22

TaliG Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I follow this topic from page one. In my opinion when there is a topic about a new product, the conversation should be on questions, assumptions and speculations about the product, and most important, oficial feedback. After receiving 0 answers on perfectly valid questions for the new product from developers, we start speculating, when we do that, beta testers come in and intercept our speculations. When all the above happen at once, then people get frustrated and turn the topic into complains about lack of updates, and the moderators step in to clean the mess. So please what is this topic about? Is it only to express our excitement by posting the same ''tape'' of aplaus and replies like: This is going to be awesome! Im so excited! I cannot wait! and so on..? Please mods and beta testers tell us what exactly should we post here because I am a bit confused and I am sure there are MANY others in my situation. :helpsmilie: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] TaliG - 373vFS “Do not repeat the tactics which have gained you one victory, but let your methods be regulated by the infinite variety of circumstances.” Sun Tzu, The Art of War
ED Team NineLine Posted February 21, 2014 ED Team Posted February 21, 2014 The Topic is to discuss news and updates of EDGE & Nevada. Speculation about release dates, comparing it to other engines, discussion other maps, etc are off topic. There isnt much new to discuss as their hasnt been any recent news or updates, you can discuss older items, post questions about those updates, but the rest of the off topic stuff will be deleted. Boberro Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 I am not surprised people are bit tensy about Nevada. It takes longer and longer time. It's been said many planes would come in, how many of them is reality? So far only MiG-21, rest still on the beginning. And there is no beloved F-16 to come :D Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. mhe Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 I can't blame ED for not providing as many updates as we'd like for various reasons. 1.) There can never be enough updates on a product as highly anticipated as EDGE 2.) If they give us no info, we complain 3.) If they give us info, we either complain that it is not enough or the info contains something we complain about (dates, prices, whatever) Regardless of what they do, whining continues. And hey, look, I'm complaining about complaining! WHINECEPTION! On another note: Can I please have some more EDGE screenshots or videos pretty please? :D</irony> | i9 12900K | 64GB DDR5-6000 | STRIX RTX 4090 OC | LG 38GN950 38" | | Hanns-G HT225HPB | TIR 5 & Varjo Aero | Virpil Throttle & Stick | TM TPRs | You don't stop playing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing.
TaliG Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 I know it is going to be a huge project but I would like to ask the moderators to move the informational posts into dcs:world subforum and leave all the irrelevant stuff here. This way, multiple ''informational'' questions will be avoided (there is no way to read 300+ pages just to check if an answer you are looking for is already there) SiThSpAwN said it all and I thank him for his patience to reply. Revan Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 I have a question about the EDGE engine: will it be able to better support very large battles? because in the current engine, it lags badly when you have a lot of units in the battle DCS: F-4E really needs to be a thing!!!!!! Aircraft: A-10C, Ka-50, UH-1H, MiG-21, F-15C, Su-27, MiG-29, A-10A, Su-25, Su-25T, TF-51
