Nemeth Designs did a great Hind for MFS4. Admittedly, no weapons were modeled, but I bet they would know it out of the park if you two could share notes. I'm kinda a Hind fanatic. :)

Start a mission ON YOUR FEET ( so you control the human ) in a forward base, by night, in the middle of a dense jungle. You go to the next barracks and your chiefs give you night's order mission : a team of 7 SOG Soldiers are lost in the deep jungle, near Cambodian border, you have to pick them out ASAP, as patrols on Cambodge is absolutely ( officialy at least ) prohibited, then take them to Da Nang airport cause they're about to finish their Tour Of Duty and should prepare to get back home.. during the flight, all can happen, stay tuned on the radio, the war is still advancing, and all can happen.. ( meaning here you would eventually be called to land on a kind of FARP, ground guys loading rocket pods on your airframe sides ) and we tell you you have fight against a VC attack near Khe Sanh, as soon as 7 guys are delivered. All mission editor, trigger etc offer many possibilities.

Oh I'd love an Mi-8! But I'm biased.

 

Speaking of bias, I'd also love an AH-64, although looking for the D model is a pipe dream (don't even THINK of a Longbow-equipped D model, that's even MORE of a pipe dream). If an AH-64 is modeled any time in the near future, it will be the A model.

No.. even if the title is helicopter wishlist, the main subject was the UH-1 Huey..

 

At least, you could try to agree with each other, it seems main winners are the Apache and MI-24. The Comanche is just ridiculous, the real one was soo expensive no one wanted it..

 

I would personally be for the AH-1W, or the MI-24, as I think that series of simulator was originally russian, and they should alternate the two countries, from one DCS module to another..

DCS Blackhawk

 

OK... I want this in the worst way now.

 

BUT, I want it with the added ability of an avatar to enter/exit.

 

PRO:

 

1. The Blackhawk is awesome and integrates well with current missions. The ability to fly over an urban area supporting with MG fire would be nothing short of awesome.
   
2. DCS pilot ejects, can allow for Blackhawk extraction
   
3. if we could load a human JTAC at a FARP for insertion… well, how cool would that be.
   
4. Snatch and grab missions, JTAC insertion, SAR… good times a plenty.
   

 

CON:

1. not sure if the whole eject/avatar join ability will ever come - although hinted at with the truck driving, the benefit of a DCS level blackhawk really relies upon expanding the role of both the JTAC and the ejected pilot.
   
2. not sure if there is enough available info for a flyable Blackhawk

As a mission builder, I would love to create a mission where the JTAC is spawned at the FARP along with the KA50s and Blackhawks. Blackhawk takes off with JTAC for insertion and operates as a SAR option for gameplay if downed pilots want to take advantage of it.

I know this is really nitpicky, but the U.S. doesn't have any Black Hawks with the "AH" designation. The DAPs are MH-60L.

My wish the RAH-66 Comanche

 

While we have DCS: Blackshark, I think it would be awesome to have more helo's added to the series and especially the Comanche added. I first got into flight sims playing Jane's Longbow 2 and Comanche Gold as a kid. I LOVED Comanche Gold, I played that sim for hours upon hours! The comanche was my favorite, and I was really disappointed when the program was canceled.

 

 

Does anyone else think we should have more flyable helo's, at least the AH-64D to go up against the Blackshark.

Yep, it has been cancelled a long time. Its purpose was a recon helicopter, but I think that the Kiowa Warrior + Longbow Apache is the same way of doing the job a LOT cheaper.
