UH-1W?

Did I see someone was developing this for DCS?

I have done a forum search but found no such announcement did I dream it?

[edit] I meant the AH-1W cobra [end edit]

Cheers

I just keep checking news about Mi-24 or AH-1W.

Then now and then I open the original post and see the AH-64 and get sad how it was canceled.

UH-60L, SH-60, S-70 export

Blackhawk has so many versions, including an S-70 export version. More or less, only the sensors and client specific nav systems are classified. S-70 export/civ version is more or less UH-60L in non-US Army livery.

OH6 Cayuse

AH64

Aérospatiale Puma, Alouette II and Gazelle

Bell 47, Kiowa

Westland Wessex, Lynx, Seaking, Wasp/Scout. Whirlwind

I would buy all of the above if they were full study version modules.

Yeah, I also would buy them all... Even if it were FC3 fidelity. I would find it cool to have a sort of helicopter-flightschool for all the basics with an easy chopper like Hughes 300, bell 47, bell206 or oh58 or similar and relatively easy and basic.

iirc VEAO is planning to do something similar with its tutor for fixed wing flightschool...

UH-60 would be awesome! CH-53 would be the next step then ;) pretty similar despite the size.

Eh, there's a reason that the H53 has an oil servicing point in the cabin, when the H60 doesn't. :music_whistling:

Hmm as far as this voting list goes I'm going to have to go with the AH-64D, the U.S. needs an attack heli, we already have the KA-50 for the Russians, though I wouldn't mind seeing the Mi-24 as well.:D

UH-1H Fort Rucker livery with hardpoints deactivated and there is your training helicopter.

Seat of the pants flying, basic avionics including tactical radio suite and IFR including NVG equipment...

Next step could be: conversion course to the OH-58, UH-60, AH-1 or AH-64

Yep, the UH-1H is already the training chopper. It's a basic full manual single engined low performance chopper. In any case, I'm solidly with those who want a US attack chopper. With the upcoming maps and aircraft, I think an export AH-1J (suitable for Iran and US) would be the best fit but any twin engined AH-1, AH-64 or Eurocopter Tiger would be fine. We just need something to fill that gap. The same is true on the eastern side. We have the Ka-50 which is very cool, but a standard issue Mi-24 would be much appreciated.

UH-60's and other common modern utility choppers would be nice, but we already have a pair of those. So I think a pair of common attack helicopters, with the western one being more important, should be the higher priority. Hopefully BST hasn't put their AH-1 and Mi-24 on the back burner again but it seems they might have.

BST is making the AH1W (Apparently) so we'll have twin engine performance, hellfires, TOWs, and all sorts of fun stuff. Sucks that its a USMC bird though. :chair:

I want to see a UH-60 so bad though, you have so much flexibility with what you can do and what weapons you can slap on the ESSS pylons (Yes, those are mavericks).

As you may notice, all previous modules only required a single pilot to operate all systems, while the Apache has a pilot and a gunner. I am curious about how the coming F14 will be implementing a pilot and RIO, though.

As nice as it would be, that would be an extremely complicated project, just imagine how difficult it would be to model the TADs and helmet mounted systems.

While the earlier A model could probably be done accurately, the D and E versions still contain classified equipment which would limit the possibility of any project living up to DCS standards. But hopefully we'll see an Apache module some day in the future. At the moment, ED have their hands full with the Hornet and other projects.

I was wondering The other night, why wont ED do a apache module?

I was wondering the other night, why ED won't do (insert aircraft of your dreams here) module?

You could ask this same question about a hundred different aircraft, and the answer will always be the same.... Can't make everything at once as making sims at this level isn't a quick job. This one is up there with the F-16 demand wise, I'm sure we'll see it eventually, just need patience as ever in this hobby. It was actually earmarked before so it is likely on ED's agenda long term still.

The KA-50 has a helmet mounted system... while different the fundamentals are the same I would think.

I heard the apache had to be canceled due to an agreement not being able to be reached with the military?
