monotwix Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Quality Tornado is £12 per kilo. I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
cichlidfan Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Actually, if you want real quality tornado's you need a big flat bit of land; like the midwestern United States. :D ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Mac10 Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Remember this bad boy .... TORNADO - Digital Integration Oh those runway denial mission's. Be cool to be able to fly M.P with pilot & navigator / weapons officer like BF3 AH-1 Super Cobra
Rangi Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Remember this bad boy .... TORNADO - Digital Integration Yeah my favorite sim ever. If we could have a GR4 and a dynamic campaign like Tornado in DCS i would be a very happy chappy. PC: 6600K @ 4.5 GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 970, 32" 2K monitor.
Ells228 Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Yeah that was an awesome flight sim for it's day.
Rockeyes Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Wow thanks for that, it brought back some memories of dragging piles of PC hardware to friends houses so we could multiplay. Spent many an hour on those campaigns too. Personally I would like to see any multi crew setup in DCS. The tornado would be brill. whiteladder Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Di`s Tornado was ace for it`s day, they did a great job on the creating the ALARM operation modes, Loiter mode in DCS would be very interesting, especially with Combined Arms.
Home Fries Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I remember flying low level to the target, switching to the backseat at inbound, dropping and hauling a$$ out of the area. That sim was way ahead of its time. Strike is what I enjoy most. I would love a chance at a 2 seat tornado in DCS. That would probably keep me occupied for a few years. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide

westr Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 A Tornado in DCS world would really be something. Low visibility and using the terrain following radar. It has a wide range of weapons and can fly a variety of missions. I am hoping one of the 3rd party developers models this plane seriously, i think she is underatted..... Ells228 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Ah dos was great, none of this windows blue screen crap!! I started programming in Dos 3.31 batch files before even Windows Runtime came with Word v1. First time I used a mouse that was. Guess it was around '92 or '93??
Home Fries Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Ah dos was great, none of this windows blue screen crap!! I'll take the BSOD over managing my conventional memory for Falcon 3.0 any day! (which by the way I was able to do on a 286 using QRAM) I started programming in Dos 3.31 batch files before even Windows Runtime came with Word v1. First time I used a mouse that was. Guess it was around '92 or '93?? I knew the hotkeys for everything and I didn't get a mouse until I needed one for graphics. I still use hotkeys as much as possible, and while I appreciate the convenience of a mouse I hate it when some pulldown entries don't have associated hotkeys. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide

Scarecrow Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 No doubt about that, but I personally prefer the Tornado over anything else. I grew up near Lossiemouth, would love to fly a DCS Tornado, I've got my fingers crossed for you. :pilotfly:
Tornado_Pilot Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013 Yeah. I grew up near Nörvenich and Geilenkirchen in Western Northrhine-Westfalia, near the Cities Düren and Aachen. We have plenty of airplanes flying around... Most of the Time you can see the AWACS and Eurofighters, right on the second place you can spot Tornados and sometimes even A10`s and F16's from 52nd TFW at Spangdahlem.
jay43 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 The fabled Tornado I use to work at Marham and Honington got to sit in the cockpits of many a Tornado from the GRMK1 through to the was it the F3 I think. The simulator that was fun the old fashioned type which used a camera over a mock up scenery which was scaled onto a huge wall. Worked in the Radar bay were they serviced the ground tracking radars which back in the day to my amazement were made by Texas Instruments when I saw that I said to the RAF engineer I have a cassette player made by them and its rubbish why were they choose as the radar he laughed and said don't compare you civilian cassette player to a £27 million pound fighter jet. There was one time when they decided to do bombing manoeuvres dropping green parrots all over the airfield and base from the cluster bomb launcher these things were everywhere and there were all the service personnel all kitted up in their chemical suits and there we were wandering around in our civies watching these things come down on small parachutes and as they hit the ground out popped all these little green parrots as the RAF called them. jay43 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I had a Revel 1/32nd scale model complete with moving wings rubber tyres the detail was amazing then after a fight with my brother he thought he would put its flight physics to the test NOOOOOOOOOOO smash that's what happens when ya pick a fight with me bro he said grinning from ear to ear.
