In my opinion, dust trails of the vehicles and the smoke from firing weapons such as seen from the sight of the M1 Abrams in the screens below is much too dense. the result is that by the time the smoke has cleared, your shot has landed and the resulting impact mark can not be seen, unless of course the target was destroyed :)

Would also be great if we could see the tracer round "lob" to target on sabots and heats.

It would be great when switching views from isometric view which could opt as a turned out, commander view to a view that is similar to this when firing the gun, rather than actually seeing the gun barrel with the hud.

Only APFSDS-T have tracer, not HEAT.

If you like you could use the attached file, it'll give AP rounds tracer effect.

I extracted both files, and neither gave a tracer affect. I extracted first one, the the other to the ...world/shapes/ folder. No tracer affect for me.

NM: copied and pasted the file and it worked. Tracer is intermittent, but it's there.

This will be adjuste in the next beta.

I hope dust will be adjusted for speed too, atm full dust in 1'st gear seems too much.

For shot smoke as well. I was driving along at 60kph with barrel at 90 degrees: after each shot, the smoke stuck to the barrel. I was hoping that shooting sideways would lessen the smoke visual impairment. Nope.

this effect also needs adjusted for seasons and wet weather ingame.

wet = none

Just found this out today: if you drive close to water/river, you leave no dust trail.

The smoke/dust trail is seriously over the top in every way.

And oddly enough, dust-plumes from shot impacts are freaking tiny. You'd expect it to be the exact opposite with all the dust kicked up from rolling around!

A extreme example of dust thrown up with no wind. So it's possible but hardly happening in fields.

I want to add that the dust from tanks driving on railroad tracks is waay too much - seems like it is no different than driving over regular terrain.

Tanks driving on RR tracks should not be as easy to spot by their dust as when they are driving on dirt.

Well since tanks can drive over cars - driving over a railroad shouln't be much of a problem.

OVER aka crossing should be possible though not as easy as it sounds. Same with the cars or even trees... need to know how to do it and the right approach, tempo + angle.

Wrecking Crew refered to driving ON railroad track to hide the dust cloud, what will be possible IRL, but requires you to slow down to a crawl. :music_whistling:

I have not had the pleasure of driving a tank in real life. But I have fired a Vulcan.
