SkateZilla Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 was eyeing a R9-295x2, cuz I Needs the MiniDPs, But still $500 used, and New Stuff for AMD will be out in 90 or so days, dont have the budget to blow $500 anyways. Till then I got my 3x 7970 Lightnings, They have served me with distinction since the day I forked out $600 each for 2 of them and snagging a 3rd for $180 that was a RMA Replacement the seller already decided to go with nVidia so he sold it w/ no reserve quickly.... I bought them when I had Zero Bills and Straight Income a few years back, lol, I can run DCS using 3rd Party Program (VorpX) w/ decent FPS. I look forward to DX12 Games, Right now I have 1.... So Windows 10 doesn't get a lot of Up-time. Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
Johnny Dioxin Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 I get so irritated... I just found a video about the Vive on YT. It was a "review/first look" by a couple of guys with a large, mostly young is my guess, following and they had queued for a couple of hours to have a go with the Vive. I thought "great - a recent review from the UK". Within a couple of minutes they came out with this blinder: "The Vive is something you can engage your whole body with, whereas the Rift and GearVR are just head-tracking devices." They also were comparing the Vive to the DK2. :noexpression: Unfortunately, it seems most of their audience liked this "review". This is the problem at the moment. I used to go around such videos and post things like "VR is going to be great, whichever headset you buy" - mostly in response to the heavily one-sided videos, but I've given up doing that. Wasting my time, I think. Rig: Asus TUF GAMING B650-PLUS; Ryzen 7800X3D ; 64GB DDR5 5600; RTX 4080; VPC T50 CM2 HOTAS; Pimax Crystal Light I'm learning to fly - but I ain't got wings With my head in VR - it's the next best thing!
lobo Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 @ Brixmis. For me the seated VR rift experience will be just fine for my main interest of simulation immersion. Also, and of great importance to my physical well being, I do not (yet) have a rubber padded room required for the "whole body" VR experience. ;) Lobo's DCS A-10C Normal Checklist & Quick Reference Handbook current version 8D available here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/172905/

Johnny Dioxin Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 lobo, I agree - I have zero intention of standing with a VR device on my head. Skate - yes, I've seen one, too. As well as the Oculus VP giving the relevant info (size of space you can move etc - can't remember what it was, though). vracan Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 New VR oculus v1.3 support I would only be interested in download DCS world if it has VR oculus v1.3 support! So does either DCS world open beta 1.5 or DCS 1.5 running well with oculus now that CV1 is officially released?

Elo001 Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Just realized that DK2 users can't modify their IPD in 1.3 anymore Damn that might seriously mess up the perceived cockpit scale, I knew something felt 'off' when testing ED

DerekSpeare Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 ATW is Asynchronous Time Warp. HA...duh...I knew this :wallbash: ATW is baked into the new runtimes. DCS isn't running. This was covered a few pages back. Chivas Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Wags suggested a few weeks ago that TW in an earlier Oculus runtime is having a good impact on DCS. Hopefully ATW alleviates the judder issue even more.

I'm starting to hear from a few people that are getting emails about 1-3 week ship dates... still waiting on mine.
vicx Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Just tried the DK2 with Oculus 1.3 drivers. IMO the DK2 isn't running right. It is subtle but the timing is just slightly off. If I was new to VR I probably wouldn't notice it but I have clocked a lot of hours in the DK2 and I am noticing it. VR desktop unlocks in a few hours so I'll buy it and I'l set a background with a grid. It is grids that really show up the problems.
Elo001 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Are you by chance referring to some kind of "warping" near the edges? Cause I noticed something as well
GunSlingerAUS Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Oculus Rift Consumer - not working with DCS Hey guys I've just received my Rift Consumer HMD, but I can't for the life of me get it to work with DCS. I've started the game in Other VR mode, enabled the "Detect Oculus Rift" button in options, but I just get a black screen on both the Rift and the secondary monitor. Any ideas? Am running the latest Oculus Rift software that works with the Consumer version.
