I would think it would be logical to have FC3 section in DCS part of the forum now that FC3 will be part of DCS World.

Can we request ED to start a kickstarter campaign to finish off all the 8 aircraft in FC3 with 3d 6dof cockpit and new external models. I am willing to pay 40$ for the whole package to get the F-15C treatment.

I'd be willing to pay $20 for each pit - won't even blink

So far I've followed all this thread succesfully. And I'm quite sure I've missed it somewhere, BUT. One thing I don't get about this AFM missile stuff. Is it valid for ALL missiles, like AGM65 or AT-6 or 9M39 (Kub) or S25L or even Hellifre? Or it is only for legacy A2A missiles?

With both options, another question:

- With FC3 release, DCS will receive the upgrade of thi AFM, without purchase of FC3?

- Or if I don't own FC3, but server does, I'll see missiles flying AFM in my Ka-50?

- If nor the server or I own FC3, but DCS gets patched, what happens?

Sorry for talking stupid things, I just no longer get it clearly after 42 pages. Thank you for asnwering!

And for everyone no satisfied, just a few thoughts:

Would you be happy if FC3 would be released with the same price a year later, with every NEW tech, which we get anyway, after a year from now?

And would you be happy seeing a community falling apart because mud-movers and high-flyers are in some distant universe? At least we can play togehter again! Things like Red-Flag, GeorgianIncident, and MANY other events can continue on a greater level. (And X-Man no longer have to count each hundreds of missiles fired after a 3 hour event ^^)

I guess not.

Just got up here and read this whole big 42 pages thread...

I am very happy with these news, ...

but I am quite shocked with the tone of many posts...

Nate, Ethereal, you guys are VERY patient!

You have my deepest respect!

In DCS I fly jets with thousands of pounds of thrust...

In real life I fly a humble Cessna Hawx XP II with 210 HP :D

Professionally done 3d external and pit models? $20 sounds more than reasonable, and I'd probably go a bit higher than that even. Though I would much rather they just do away with it altogether and make more DCS modules (which, all things considered, isn't all too unlikely in this case).

P.S. I'd blink at the cost, but only because I would be looking at screenshots and crying about how beautiful they are whilst hitting the "buy" button.

P.P.S. It seems ED is like a very pretty woman. You have to keep spending your money to keep her in line, but at the end of the day, she never fails to satisfy ;).

Okay, you can delete the last comment if it proves to be too inappropriate. I understand.

It will probably be a mix of A-A and A-G weapons, though I doubt that every single missile will get an AFM, much the same way that JDAMs never received an AFM in DCS while the other bombs got them.

1. Yes, although it was developed specifically for FC3, you will receive the upgrades in World as a patch, for free.

2. The server does not have to own FC3 for AFM missiles. The missile upgrade will come in a patch to the world structure, free of charge, when FC3 comes out. Unknown if the Ka-50 will receive AFM missiles, but at this point it seems likely that at least some of them will get the treatment (e.g. probably for the Vikhrs, but probably not for things like the Kh-25ML (though this is a Su-25T weapon also, so it is possible)).

3. You still get the World specific upgrades that FC3 promised, and will still be able to put FC3 planes in the mission, but only people who own FC3 will be able to fly them around.

And for everyone no satisfied, just a few thoughts:

Doubtful. From the looks of it, peoples' patience is wearing thin for this franchise, and from where I stand, plus seeing ED's and TFC's opinions on the matter, I can safely say that this is probably the end of the road for the FC series as far as new products goes. needless to say though, it will benefit from continued updates to the World structure.

@pyroflash....Remember that initially Wags said ED was given permission to make 2 addons for LOMAC. But this is the third one...so it may be that Ubisoft is a bit more LAX with the franchise permission. Either way...clearly ED sees the FC franchise as a nice alternative to those who prefer simpler flight simulation products. I think they are just being handicapped with the requirement for LOMAC, so hopefully in the future, they can break free of LOMAC requirement and release the 8 planes renewed into the DCS franchise itself. Either way...I don't think the FC line of products will be abandoned. There is a nice niche of players who still fly this sim.

I didn't say abandoned. I just said that this is likely the last time we will see an FCx release. Maybe under another name, yes, possibly we might see another release of updated aircraft, visually, or systems wise, or both, or new A/C altogether. Also remember that FC is not a licensed addon to LOMAC. It is a paid for mod for LOMAC that just happens to be made by the same people who developed the original game. Something of an unofficial, official expansion.

I'm sure that somewhere it was mentioned by ED that FC3 would be the last FC. It makes sense given the DCS World strategy. Instead of producing FC4, ED or 3rd party devs can create "F-15/Su-27/etc for DCS World". These would be lower fidelity sims distinct from DCS Eagle/Flanker.

Awaiting: DCS F-15C

Yeah, and even then it is unlikely TBH. ED has stated that for some time they wanted to get away from making low fidelity sims and focus on better and more accurate simulations of individual aircraft (how many aneurysms they can have :P).

As long as all of them ( 3rd party / fc3 /dcs aircraft ) can be used in multiplayer in world I will be a happy bunny.

Multiplayer compatibility is everything for me, I dont do single player much.

New 6 degrees of freedom (6DOF) cockpit and model for the F-15C.

I'm a bit surprised that other aircraft don't have 6DOF as well.

In FC2 we could add the 6DOF to all flyable aircraft when editing some lua files... so why not releasing 6DOF for the other aircrafts by default in FC3 ?

Anyway that's really nice that FC3 will come this month, it will bring real Air to Air combat to dcs:World ! And for once since very long time we'll be able to fly higher than 20000 feet and fly supersonic !

Leads to cockpit clipping bugs IIRC.

I glad the F-15C got special treatment. I don't fly the Russian fighters anyway....I just shoot them down. The F-15C the worlds largest distributor of MiG parts in the world. :D

Joking aside, never been a big Flanker fan, but I love the Mig-29.

Im sure it will be possible to give them 6dof when they arrive with a mod, I am using 6dof with the su-25t at the moment, and yes there is some clipping in the pit but being able to have a good look around is more important for me :)

I get the impression that FC3 makes some improvements to the DCS World like improvements in the areas of the mission editor, special effects, new models, improved terrain detail, expanded theatre of operations map into eastern Georgia, and added logistics control to missions. I do not own FC1 or FC2 and I would prefer not to have to install some legacy software on my computer to be able to take advantage of what sounds more like advances that should be contained in DCS World. Its not that I am apposed to buying FC3 it's just that many years of trying to install legacy software has shown me that it can cause software installation problems, lockups and problems in the registry, which no matter how you slice it, always leads to eventually having to spend two days reinstalling all my soaftware and the OS from scratch. Maybe ED can provide some of these updates another way through the purchase of an update module for those of us who are not planning on buying FC3.
