Well to have FC2 you will need LOMAC. So you would have to have had it at one point.

It really does not matter but it will be interesting to test.

Test what?

I am curious what the software is looking for and how FC2 would satisfy the letter of the contract with UBI. I don't recall anyone saying that LOMAC or FC1 were prerequisites for FC2.

In short, I do not believe that you will be able to install FC3 if only FC2 is on your system.

Great to see old Shark still getting new features! Good job ED. I hope they will optimize the engine

Will install the new version when I get an SSD this month hopefully!

Well I'll be! I installed BS1 (activated), DCS World, and then the BS2 Update and what do you know!!!! My activation doesn't work for the game I paid for. How cool is that?!!

Update: All smart assness aside: I had to manually delete the DCS registry files and burn an activation for each module but hey, it works now. FPS sucks though. :(

I too experiencing Activation Issue with BS. Reinstalled BS1, then attempted to install BS 2 update for latest world and installs, but when I try to fly a quick mission, I get the activation prompt and it says something about an "integrity fault..."

Thus, no joy on flying the Shark in latest build... :(

Thought it was just me, but yes. Seems once you get hit, no matter how severe, or where, systems start shutting down.

new update :D

So, how does this work? I install standalone BS1, then the BS2 upgrade module for DCS World. Can I delete the standalone BS1 then? All future BS updates will be handled through the DCS World Auto updater? Or do I need to keep the old standalone installed permanently for future updates to work?

After you have BS2 installed into world, you can delete BS1. Note that if you need to reinstall the BS2 upgrade, you need to install BS1 again. Shouldnt be much of an issue anymore now with the auto-updater.

Ok, thanks, that sounds ok. Hopefully they will fix the reinstall issue in the future. It should be enough to, I don't know, maybe input both serial numbers or something when the upgrade module is installed. Something to make the BS1 installation unneccessary.

Hi wonder if somebody could help, I have recently built a new pc and was gonna buy the blackshark 2 upgrade for dcs world, do you know if I need the original blackshark installed or can I just use the original blackshark product code as proof of purchase? Thanks in advance...

Yes you will need bs1 installed.

World is technically the update to the game. The version following 1.1.1.1 migrated the game into a base program called World where all future air craft, aka modules, can plug into it. This opened the door to allow 3rd party developers access which up to this point could not develop for the DCS series. The modules are not limited to aircraft and can be such things as terrain or eventually ground vehicles. One of the other nice features of world was the fact that you did not have to download and install separate 5 gig programs.
